We do not collect, store, transmit, or share your chat data, personal information, or browsing history.

1. Core Functionality (Chats & Browsing)

• No Chat Collection: We do not read, store, or transmit your ChatGPT conversations.
• No Browsing History: We do not track websites you visit.
• Local Processing: All performance optimizations run locally on your device.

2. License Verification (Pro Users Only)

If you purchase a Pro license interact with the optional paid features, the extension communicates with Freemius, our licensing provider.
- Data Transferred: A unique installation ID and your license key are sent to api.freemius.com to verify your purchase status.
- Purpose: Strictly for license validation and fraud prevention.
- Privacy: This data is handled securely by Freemius in accordance with their privacy policy.

🧠 How the Extension Works

The extension operates entirely within the user’s browser.
It enhances performance on ChatGPT by:

• Intercepting fetch requests to trim large response data before it hits the UI layer.
• Managing DOM nodes to keep the page lightweight.
• Restoring messages locally from cache when requested.

🔑 Permissions Explanation

storage

Used to save your local settings (e.g., Message Limit preferences) and your license activation status.

activeTab

Used only so the popup can send messages to the script running on the current ChatGPT tab to apply settings immediately.

Host permissions

• https://chat.openai.com/*, https://chatgpt.com/*: Required to intercept network requests and modify the DOM for performance optimization.
• https://gptspeedbooster.com/*: Used to open the success/failure pages after a purchase.
• https://api.freemius.com/*: Used securely to validate Pro license keys.

🌐 Data Transfer

Except for the license verification described above (for Pro users), Speed Booster for ChatGPT does not send any data to any server. There are no tracking pixels, no analytics scripts, and no telemetry.
