Dialogue Captions is designed to operate locally inside the user's browser.

Data Collection

Dialogue Captions does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share personal data.

The extension does not use:

• user accounts
• analytics
• tracking scripts
• external databases
• remote servers
• cloud processing

How the Extension Works

The extension reads subtitle/caption timing data already available on YouTube watch pages in order to render an enhanced dialogue-style subtitle overlay locally in the browser.

All processing occurs locally on the user's device during active use of YouTube pages.

No caption or video data is transmitted outside the browser by the current version of the extension.

Permissions

The extension requests only the permissions required to function on YouTube watch pages.

These permissions are used solely for:

• reading available caption/timed-text data
• rendering the overlay interface
• storing local extension settings/preferences

Local Storage

Dialogue Captions may store local user preferences inside the browser, such as:

• panel position
• text size
• opacity settings
• UI preferences

These settings remain on the user's local device/browser profile.

Future Changes

If future versions introduce features involving:

• external services
• analytics
• advertising
• accounts
• cloud synchronization

this privacy policy will be updated before those features are released.
