- Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót Geo WW, 2 oeren lynI would prefer to give this 0 stars, but I guess it does deserve ONE because it has detected and stopped a few redirects that were legitimately pages I would not want to go to, and caught some fake sites that were sponsored pages in Google search.
That said, it uses way too much memory for this kind of browser extension, which I could forgive considering that I have plenty of RAM, but where I draw the line is the absolutely irritating pop-ups FROM the extension itself!
If I'm using an add-on that is supposed to do things like block ads, why on earth am I constantly getting them from the add-on I'm using to block them?
Why is it EVERY day, when I go to use Firefox, I have to see some annoying ad telling me how many things the Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocked? Like you need to sell me the extension I already have installed on my computer!
And worse, there's NO WAY to turn them off! Go through the settings and there's no setting to control the extension notifications, so I have no choice but to see them, which while that's bad enough, even worse is they never want to close! Sometimes clicking on the X won't even close it, so I end up either refreshing the page or having to duplicate the tab and close the one I'm on because a ridiculous pop-up from my pop-up blocker won't go away!
Now, sometimes I'm getting multiple of them! Like I finally get it to close and there's another one, I just got two pop-ups from Malwarebytes Browser Guard in a ROW!
I've finally had it, I'm uninstalling this thing because I'm sick of it. I didn't install a pop-up blocker so that I could have to constantly have unclosable pop-ups from the blocker, that is absolutely absurd and crosses a line for me.
A good browser guard would just have the icon for it maybe have a number over it or a quiet tick when it blocks something, and that's it. Whoever decided there should be pop-ups for the browser guard I already have installed should not have that job. Show me discretely that you block stuff, I don't actually care how much stuff you've blocked for everyone in the world every day, like not even a little bit, as in there is no reasonable way I could possibly care less, so I don't want this information, and should not be forced to see it constantly.
I would never recommend this to anyone as it is unreasonable that the extension itself spams the exact thing I got the extension to stop.
Note: After posting this review and uninstalling the plugin, the exact page I was on and had just closed all the pop-ups, had another Malwarebytes Guard Popup telling me how many things Malwarebytes Guard removed in the past 30 days (in general for everyone, nothing to do with me). It actually happens all the time when I move between tabs, often forcing me to try and close the thing dozens and dozens of times every day. I'm so glad I uninstalled this thing, I despise it, and I will never install it again. At this point I don't even care if there is some way to disable this somewhere (not that I could find one), I'm beyond irritated that this is actually the default behavior. Malwarebytes (even the AV) used to be such a lean and non-intrusive application. Now, it's basically junkware, like the garbage bloatware I used to charge people to remove from their new computers. I've seriously gone from being a loyal Malwarebytes fan that has recommended and installed this software for thousands of customers, to someone who really can't stand it. I don't know why they have ruined what used to be hands down the best anti-malware software in the world, but it is an unfortunate loss.
If you need a extension to stop pop-up ads, scams, etc., I would suggest looking elsewhere, this thing is exactly what you're probably trying to stop when you install it. - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót AMM, ien dei lyn

If you are on the latest, can you share more at support.malwarebytes.com please? - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Parzifal, 22 dagen lynIt's an essential extension for me. I would not surf the Internet without it anymore. It keeps me safe from all kinds of threats on the Net and even gets rid of most of the annoying ads you come across. Highly recommended!

jo se napisał 3 moannen lynHi Jim, thanks for reporting! Just to confirm, are you using the latest 3.0.26 version? We've fixed several things regarding performance in the most recent versions.
If you are on the latest, can you reach out at support.malwarebytes.com so we can help find the source of the issue please? - Z 2 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 13475572, 3 moannen lynSomething has changed recently that causes Firefox to slow to a crawl when this is enabled. CPU and memory utilization look normal. Even local web pages that normally load in milliseconds now take seconds to load, and often as much as 30 seconds for a normal page load.
This is badly broken! Disabled.Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał 3 moannen lynThat's not good!
Just to confirm you are running the latest 3.0.25 version? If not, please try upgrading.
If so, can you reach out at support.malwarebytes.com please and we can help resolve from there. - Z 3 z 5 pógódnośonywót Yansurnummu, 4 moannen lyn
- Z 3 z 5 pógódnośonywót Katie, 4 moannen lynI've used this for years but had to uninstall it because I couldn't copy 50% of what I needed. Half the time I tried to copy something I'd get the pop up that was a warning that something had been copied, and when I clicked "disable for this website" it did nothing. No matter what when I pasted the content it would just say "[suspicious content]."

jo se napisał 4 moannen lynI'm sorry to hear this feature is not working as expected.
If possible, can you share more details at support.malwarebytes.com please?
Specifically, I'm curious which websites are you seeing this issue?
There are two other bugs we are working on that may help resolve this issue, but it's always helpful to have as many details as possible. - Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót Alfonso Alongi, 4 moannen lynThis was a great extension before the clipboard monitoring feature was introduced. This feature does not work properly and constantly replaces the clipboard content with “[⚠️ Suspicious Content]”.
Please provide the option to disable the feature because the extension has become unusable. I also tried disabling the “Get data from the clipboard” and “Input data to the clipboard” permissions from the Firefox settings, but it doesn't work. This is a serious problem.
I also tried sending an email to support@malwarebytes.com, which is listed in the extension support, but I received an automatic reply saying, “Your email was sent to an unmonitored mailbox account.” and to open a ticket.Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał 4 moannen lynMy apologies—that email is indeed incorrect. We will fix this. The best way to reach us is at support.malwarebytes.com.
I completely understand your concern about the clipboard monitoring feature. We are working on adding the ability to toggle this feature globally.
When you receive the popup warning, you can click "Disable this warning for this site," and you won't see this warning again. Alternatively, you can add the sites you trust to the Scams Allowlist, and you will not encounter this issue. - Z 3 z 5 pógódnośonywót Merriska Carrier, 4 moannen lynNormally works very well, unfortunately even after the mid July patch it was still making watching Youtube incredibly sluggish and with pop ups so I've had to temporarily disable it.
Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał 4 moannen lynI'm sorry to hear that. We will look into this. In the meantime, you are right—you can turn off ad protection for YouTube and still be safe on other sites you visit.

- Z 3 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 16351663, 5 moannen lynI'm running the latest version of FireFox. This has warned me about entering two or three potentially malicious sites, but I get multiple occurences daily of pages virtually freezing and a warning pop-up that the plugin is slowing FF down. I've therefore disabled it for now. When I next remember, I'll give it another try to see if the issue (if there is one) has been addressed.
Edit: VERY impressed by the speed of Malwarebytes' response! Have added a diary reminder to turn it back on in a week's time to see if the fix has been implemented. In the meantime, I'll try very hard not to visit sites I shouldn't. :-)Wótegrono wuwijarja
