- Z 2 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 18020073, 2 år sidanI have used Protonmail merrily for many years, and trust it quite a lot, so when this service popped up I was very promptly in.
The very second website I used after installation was such a spectacular disaster that I had to remove the add-on entirely.
I will TRY to explain (plus superficially mention a couple other things I found lacking).
1. I don't love the large pop-up window asking for something on the side. I IMAGINE it asked if I wanted to save my password for this site, or maybe if I wanted to implement the password it had already stored from the CVS import I had performed minutes earlier. There was no way to know because most of the right-hand side text was clipped, and it would not fill the space even if I reduced the zoom level of the page.
2. Installation process... not great. Too unclear on the results. In my case I could never plainly see if the add-on was already working unless I checked via the Firefox manager.
3. The really egregious problem took place as I was trying to log-in into my bank's website.
My bank has a system that includes 3 pages for that purpose.
1st page you enter your card. 2nd page your password. 3rd page you scan a QR code that a physical token reads and gives you a numerical transitory PIN to be entered in some fields.
It was on this third page that the catastrophic behaviour of the add-on manifested.
The PIN is 8 digits long. Each digit is entered in its own separate space (there are 8 different tiny areas to enter each number).
The 1st and 8th areas showed automatically the icon of ProtonPass. And nothing else could be input into those spaces.
So from 8 digits, I could only enter 6.
Since those numbers are time sensitive, the only way to solve the situation was to deactivate the add-on.
You can imagine how useless this nice idea quickly turned for me.
I hope I was able to explain the situation because my intention is not to simply to berate this tiny piece of software, but to actually help make it better.
Best wishes with the development, very likely I'll come back some months later to check it again.Wótegrono wuwijarja

For 1), are you using any custom font on your web browser? We're aware of the issue and we're going to address it in a future update.
3) This isn't an issue that we've encountered before. If you're able to reproduce it, would you consider contacting us via the Settings → Support option in the extension, and give us more information so we can document the report? Namely, please send us a screenshot, if possible, tell us the website's name, as well as your OS and browser versions. - Z 3 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 14840200, 2 år sidan

To make it worse, they use the term "autofill" to describe their difinitively MANUAL method of entering credentials. It's misleading, and confusing. I even wasted two days communicating with their customer support in a frustrating back-and-forth because they don't understand what "autofill" means.Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał 2 år sidanCan you elaborate on what exactly you're referring to by 'autofill' so we make sure there are no misunderstandings?
Autofill should work on most websites (by suggesting your saved login items for a particular website when you go to log into that website) the same way that your memorized passwords in your browser might work.
We're working on improving the autofill functionality for all web services reported by our community. Please feel free to flag any problematic web services or apps to us either by editing your review or by contacting us at pass@protonme.zendesk.com, and we'll note your feedback for future improvements. Thank you for taking the time to rate and review our extension! - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Ashley, 2 år sidanProton pass is a good password manager tool. It doesn't have many of the bells and whistles that other pass managers have. The autofill is a little buggy right now but manageable. It is still new and will improve over time. The encrypted password generation & storage is sufficient for my needs.
On desktop, it is simply a browser extension. You can store your accounts, generate strong passwords (up to 64 characters), and lock 🔐 it. It contains a simple Note section, and CC login storage. Separate Authentication Apps and physical security keys are also supported for more login security.
Edit (7/28/2024): I feel like this pass manager has gotten better. They now have dark web monitoring for emails and secure link sharing for info in the manager. So of the autofill is still buggy, but still hoping this will improve over time. I love the email aliasing features and the manager lets you know if you are reusing passwords and if you have weak passwords. - Z 2 z 5 pógódnośonywót Haru, 2 år sidanI hope the Proton team is putting a lot of effort into this extension because currently, it's not working well at all. I'd say that it only offers to autofill my info on about 50% of the sites I've tried to use it on. When I enter new login info for a website, it pretty much NEVER offers to remember it. I would submit bug reports, but I don't want to take the time because it doesn't work more often than it does. I really wish there was a standalone app for Windows instead of only the browser extension because I'd like to be able to use it for passwords that are outside of the browser as well. I also worry that there could be security vulnerabilities that are due to the browser and extension ecosystem. I'm a paid subscriber and rather disappointed, at the moment.

- Open the extension
- Select + in the top right
- Select 'Password'
- Type: Random password
- Use the slider to select between 4 and 64 characters for the password length - Z 3 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 18013034, 2 år sidanLove the idea. Currently very buggy.
80% of the time outofill on existing logins does not work.
I do not want to import from outher sources, to prevent importing old accounts with invalid pw data.
So want to organically fill it upon time once I login to certain pages. But exactly this is not working because the ProtonPass dialog does either not show up at all on the login screen, or its not possible to fill in all information.
Reddit for example. Dialog did not even show up.Wótegrono wuwijarja
