Excellent! Sorts bookmarks into (in my case) alphabetical order, with the option to list subfolders alphabetically as well, or to have them at the top or bottom. Simple, and works great straight out of the box.

amazing addon, this is exactly what i wanted for bookmarks to finally be convenient to use, folders on top, stuff sorted by date and new bookmarks go to go to the top below the folders for quick drag and drop actions.

i have one big suggestion: could there be an exception rule? for example folders and bookmarks starting with a "." (dot) or ending on a " ´´ " being protected from the auto sorting? probably want something that's quick to type when saving, and is unlikely to have false positives?

i'd like folders to be in a specific order and not everyone now and then have to remake all of them as a workaround. a checkbox option to just have a ll folders not get moved would work for me too i guess.

Just what was needed to remediate the dysfunctional Firefox bookmark library/folder sorting. You'd think after all these years Mozilla would have done so.

I can now sort my OTHER BOOKMARKS by DATE ADDED in most recent chronological order and have it stick. And NOT have it alter the bookmark order in the BOOKMARKS TOOLBAR folder.

Right-click a specific folder and locate at the bottom the add-on option to configure. Remember to tick the box "Always keep sorted" then click "Confirm".

I tried the Auto-Sort Bookmarks add-on extension from another dev, yet that did not offer specific folder configuration. The folder options were only global.

As of writing, this was operational on version ESR 115.17.0

Leider kann man nicht auswählen, dass nur Bookmarks in einem bestimmten Ordner sortiert werden, und alles andere unverändert bleibt.

Es werden immer alle Lesezeichen sortiert.

Schade, weil es ansonsten ein sehr gutes Add-On wäre.

It's not "Sort Bookmarks", it's "Sort Bookmarks BY FOLDER".
So basically, this does nothing more than what Firefox already does by default.
Useless.

Works well. Most reliable way to have settings per folder is to have bookmarks sidebar open and right click on a folder, then select 'Sort this folder'. In fact this seems to be the only way to set unique settings for 'Other Bookmarks' folder. Using Firefox.

hey man, I'm trying to sort a folder in the firefox bookmark manager (separated window). when I right click the folder and click "sort this folder", the add-on dialog open and close immediately, and I can't do anything.
