wót Wužywaŕ Firefox 19413785, hace 8 mesesSadly, a case study as to why to not enable automatic updates. Clippy and Louis Rossmann would be sad. Created an account to review due to recent changes.
I will give the author credit where it is due, he seems to be updating the extension regularly. It's now on version 3.31 and as far as I can tell, the subscription wording was added back 3.29, and I've since downgraded to 3.28 and will leave it there until I find a replacement. I will also give the author credit for creating a popup to let me know as I hadn't realized it had stopped working. And I learned that downgrading an extension is a built in feature of Firefox.
The only other extension I know that charges is PushBullet, but their free option is quite more generous than '3 times a day.' I also rather look at it that something has changed for the developer as he now feels he needs funds and hope things turn out well for him. It's easier to think that, than something like he just got greedy. Or maybe it's better the other way around?
For what it claims, it seems to do what is says. Only had some issues with locally hosted sites, but the blacklist feature is useful enough for that.
Edit:
Updated to 2 stars due to friendly developer response. I cannot go farther than that because they change the extension after the fact. Would have no issue if it was like that from the start. It's unfortunate because I see where the developer is coming from (as a programmer myself) and I understand the thought process, but can't support the act. If you see this Francisco, I thank you for your offer, but I'll have to refuse on principle.

jo se napisał hace 8 mesesHi
Thanks for the fair and detailed review. Happy to offer you a year long license. I am also glad to know its possible to downgrade as I understand maybe not everyone will be willing to pay, and that way you have a solution. Unfortunately we are two people working almost full time here, and for this to be viable we need to charge a subscription. I don't think 1$ is greedy or unfair, but if people don't like it they can downgrade or stop using it.
Best regards
Francisco

I don't mind asking for a donation - I had an option on my projects too, and I still intend to keep. But the difference is, only if required for good, and for real I cannot run the project on my own.
Anyhow, the annoying and disruptive load of donation page with this as the value add to my life highlighted in it-

jo se napisał hace 4 mesesHi! Are you sure super agent is set up correctly? Saving you 0 clicks would me super agent has not worked in a single page you have visited which sounds highly unlikely.

- Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót YaggaYaggaHey, hace 5 mesesIt MIGHT work really well. I'll never know since they want you to pay and login. On top of which they only (allegedly) offer ''40 free goes''. Which they don't do: On my first use, it says I've used 36 of my 40 free goes.
DREADFUL since there are plenty of absolutely free and efficient ones. - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 19133516, hace 6 meses
- Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Ary, hace 6 mesesFirst I say, it's a good extension to have. I honestly didn't know how to write a review about it until yesterday.
I'm gonna be honest, I was a bit bummed out when I learned we had to pay for more pop-ups, but on the bright side, we get 40 free ones. it's enough for me. But on that note, I understand the cause for having to pay for a project because NO ONE should ever work for free. I am no developer, but server related costs can be a bit tolling sometimes and paying out of pocket is kinda... annoying, for a lack of better terms.
I'm considering buying the lifetime license for $30. It's not really that bad, supporting a few people with this kind of money, honestly. (I don't get why people got so salty since it goes the same for any other developer that creates an open source project. At one point, they'll probably have to ask you to pay or they could shut down completely.)
But I just wanna make a suggestion, [since I believe $30 isn't enough to fully support you guys] and create a webpage where I could donate more money (perhaps OpenCollective or even a PayPal) to keep this app running and maybe have extra features! I would say create a pop-up where your donation webpage is gonna be on? Thanks for making my browsing easier, SuperAgent!
Edit: They do have a donation link!Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał hace 6 mesesHey Ary. First of all thank you so much for your kind review.
I'm no developer either, so I really have no choice but to pay someone else to work on the extension!
We used to have a donation page setup back in the day, but we never had any traction there so had to just turn on monetization. The link still works though:
https://donate.super-agent.com/
I would also love to know what extra features you would like to see. We are currently working on improving our UX and coverage, but we could definitely add extra features if we saw there was a need for it.
Best regards

People leaving 1-star reviews: expecting software this good for free for life isn't realistic. When something is free usually the product is you and your data. I am happy to pay for this to support the developers who have to actively maintain not only the popup list but also the dom elements and popup delays since cookie popups are not standardized. jo se napisał hace 6 mesesHi. 1$ seems pretty reasonable.
Edit: You are free not to want to pay, it is understandable. I just don't see how that justifies giving low reviews to every extension that is not free. Does that mean I should pay developers out of pocket? That people should work for free?
You can even downgrade the version to previous one and keep using it for free. We also let 40 free uses per week. I can understand it is frustrating to pay for something that was free but it was either this or eventually shut the extension off.- Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 18361144, hace 6 meses

- Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót bcl, hace 7 mesesThey added a nag popup to the extension that is supposed to reduce the amount of pop-ups you see. It's cool if you want to charge for your software, but randomly adding intrusive pop-ups (which fully take you away from your tab on mobile btw) is not great

- Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Anonymous, hace 7 mesesI’ve been using this extension for a while, and it’s absolutely fantastic. It’s reliable, works as it says on the tin, and has saved me a lot of time and hassle. It's a smooth experience and the developer has always been prompt in adding more and more sites.
Good software takes time, effort, and ongoing costs to keep it running, and this extension is well worth supporting. For the value it delivers, the cost is more than fair.
