Tab Debt Manager — Privacy Policy

Tab Debt Manager does not collect or transmit personal data to external servers. All data needed for the extension to work is stored locally in your browser.
Data we collect
Local browser data: The extension stores tab metadata (URLs, titles, timestamps) and user settings in the browser’s local storage (chrome.storage.local / browser.storage.local) to provide grouping, snooze and restore functionality.
No analytics: We do not use analytics, telemetry, or third‑party tracking services.
No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected or sent externally by default.
How we use data
Stored data is used only to implement extension features (group tabs, schedule snoozes, restore tabs, and show age of tabs).
Notifications and alarms are scheduled locally; no external scheduling or notification services are used.
Data sharing and third parties
The extension does not share data with third parties.
If you explicitly export data (e.g., via a feature you initiate), that exported data may be handled outside this extension—review any export recipient’s privacy practices.
Data retention and deletion
Data is retained locally until you remove the extension, clear your browser storage, or use a UI control in the extension (if provided) to clear its data.
To delete stored data manually, remove the extension or clear the extension’s storage via your browser’s extension or developer tools.
Security
All data is stored locally; we recommend using standard browser/device security (e.g., OS login, browser profile encryption).
We take reasonable care to avoid insecure coding patterns; the extension does not deliberately expose stored data to external sites.
Children
This extension is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the extension. The “Last updated” date will indicate the most recent change.
