Great addon. Great when you get sucked into something and find yourself 5 or 6 tabs and want to quickly get back to the original table, you just ctrl-shif-u 5 or 6 times.

Th only thing I wish it had was the ability to close the tab when you switch away. In the scenario I just gave, I then have to go and middle click over them all to close them, but if there was a shortcut to switch back and close at the same time, it would be great.

    Simply awesome and very useful add-on! I am a researcher and it is very important for me to track how I find articles, sometimes I used a classic search engine, sometimes it is via an academic one (like Scholar) or in some other situations via a link on an article page. But with many tabs open it becomes complicated, even worse when the original tab was closed at some point. But this plugin makes the process as easy as hitting "ctrl + shift + u". Thanks heaps to the dev!

    Thanks for a very handy extension, that works very well.
    But today there's a big problem with the update. If I allow the update to install, it installs Text Rewriter.
    I never installed Text Rewriter. Could it be that somehow you or Mozilla mixed up Text Rewriter and Tab Origin?
    For the moment I blocked updating.

    sorry about the mix-up! I must have accidentally posted the update on the wrong addon :(
    I disabled the bad version, and later I will put up a new version number bump so that hopefully people who auto-updated should auto-update back...

    Doesn't install in right-click menu.

    Simply not there. Even after a restart.

    What it does instead, is install an invisible button in the toolbar. The button cannot be seen until you hover the mouse over it, and then it's just a tiny blank oval.

    And THEN it doesn't function. At all.

    Lonny, if you have an orange theme the icon may be invisible because it's orange.

    You can also activate it with control-shift-u (cmd on mac). If you find a bug report it on the issues page in the description.

    Edit: sorry I didn't set the version field correctly for the latest update. The addon now uses the new API but this only works on Firefox 57+. The version requirement should be fixed now so you can download the older version of the addon if you're not on Firefox 57 yet.
