Hover, focus and selection are shown by fill rather than by an outline. The active tab carries no underline: it reads as a shape lifted off the tab strip, and the address bar deepens on focus instead of growing a border.

That puts the weight on the value steps between neighbouring surfaces, which were set by measurement rather than by eye — wide enough that the address bar never dissolves into the toolbar, narrow enough that the chrome does not read as stacked stripes.

Every text and icon colour meets WCAG AA against every surface it sits on, and body text meets AAA.

This is the static build: one fixed palette, nothing to configure. If you would rather it followed your system appearance, offered three depth levels and marked private windows, Vellum Pro does the same thing from an extension.
