When it's working, it does the job perfectly. However, it broke audio in some context. For example, I was listening to a podcast and if I try to listen to it from the website there's no sound, but if I access the file directly it works. But I really like the simplicity of the UI, it's exactly what I needed.

jo se napisał há um anoHi, what podcast/site are you trying? Have you tried giving the extension the extra permissions? "Important: To add functionality to more websites, the permission "all_urls" was necessary, however with the recent update to manifest v3, it's optional. If the extension can't access audio on a certain site do the following: Right click the extension, click "manage extension", click the permission tab, allow "Access your data for all websites". This is a necessary permission to access iframes. The extension is open source and fully adheres to this repository. There's no form of analytics in this extension. So don't be afraid of the permissions."

- I was using a volume manager extension on chrome that one could increase and lower volume in some increments via customizable extension shortcuts. Mine were alt+up/down arrow keys
It'd be nice if we could do the same here. We can already bring up the volume window by an extension shortcut. Why not add a few for up and down adjustments? Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał há 21 diasIt really shouldn't the only reason it should crackle is if you turn the volume past 0db because some audio sources might peak.
Your issue of audio crackling is usually a non-grounded auxiliary or, a high memory latency / memory bug.
When I was on z97 and had my memory set to 2133mhz [a very high xmp value for ddr3] the audio constantly crackled when running certain applications. This can also be experienced when running with a lack of buffer while using an ASIO driver.
Completely unrelated to the plugin itself but maybe exacerbated by it.- Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Nozomi Miyamori, há 2 meses

- Z 4 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 18952227, há 4 mesesThis is the best volume add on I've used, many of the others are offshoots of the most popular one, which barely changes the volume of tabs and is rather useless. One thing to note that if it is not working on certain websites ensure you go into your settings and allow it to run on websites with restrictions or it will seem as if a website is on the blacklist even if it is not.

- Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót Sev, há 5 mesesNo longer works on Meta-owned sites, which are the entire reason I installed it (given Facebook videos have no volume sliders). Trying to use it on Facebook or Instagram since the latest update now causes a "This site is in the exclusions list" despite having not changed any settings on my end. I'm sure this is due to a change with Meta, but it defeats the purpose of this extension for me.

jo se napisał há 5 mesesUnless it's in the exclusion list, it shouldn't display this message. Please paste your log in the github issues..... you can also temporarily downgrade to an older edition from the github releases page or the versions page on mozilla https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/volume-control-boost-volume/versions/
Hope I can help you resolve your problem and you can revise your review to 5 stars. I jut do this as a hobby. - Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót kibababa, há 5 mesesWorks good but on some web sites breaks audio completely (e.g. Steam) and it's not possible to know that audio is broken unless you know it should be playing on the website. Too much hustle...
Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał há 5 mesesIts because steam blocks it in their CSP, sadly lots of CDNs do.
I could individually add each one to the FQDNS list, but like you said that's a lot of hassle and it has to be reaproved by mozzila everytime etc.
The way audio source is pulled is on page load. If it's doing it too late lots of sites won't interact with the plugin. Where as its an issue on sites with strict CSP as then it just blocks audio.
So sadly there's nothing I can do about it, without further reducing compatible sites.
Could maybe make a whitelist mode instead of a blacklist mode in the future.
I hope you revise your review as it "works good" - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót 0WfCh, há 5 meses

- Z 4 z 5 pógódnośonywót Subvert, há 6 mesesWouldve been a 5 star cause it does do the increase volume thing well, but for some reason it causes multiple elements on the website d2l (which i use for my college courses) to break. No clue why or how it does this, but because of this I'm forced to uninstall the extention
Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał há 5 mesesIt's most likely because it interacts on page load and your site has a strict CSP. If you add it to the FQDNS list the page may then work. - Z 3 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 18768669, há 7 mesesworks just fine on for me relevant websites
BUT
blocks amazon prime and disney plus videoplayer. so in order to stream any movie on these sites i have to deactivate the extension. - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Roundup, há 7 mesesFar better than other sound addons. Does the job, doesn't broke the pages and no ads/clickbait.
- Z 3 z 5 pógódnośonywót mb9023, há 8 mesesWorks sometimes but often I load up a page and the video has no sound at all, especially on twitter, until I disable and re-enable the extension. Would be nice if it remembered settings too.
