Icons often have to be manually added to the PWA, and the Windows OS can no longer store persistent links to the PWA in the taskbar - "pin to taskbar" results in a link that gets invalidated every time FF starts. IIRC that feature used to work.

Further it is unclear (from the user perspective) *WHAT EXACTLY* needs updating. There's the standalone install (what is that called?) -vs- the stuff that gets installed in the Firefox folder... and is there more? I've updated the standalone install but it still complains it needs to be updated - well OK then do it, I am not sure what else I am supposed to do?
As far as I can tell I am up to date - 2.14.1 [application installed in C:\Program Files (x86)], and extension is still at 2.13.3 on this very page, but the extension is complaining I still need to update. - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από jw, 8 μήνες πρινEvery once in a while, newly pinned extension is not showing in the title bar. it does show in the toolbar, which is hidden.
to make it worse, it is also hidden in customization page, so it's impossible to move it in any way. also, because it weirdly requires long press to show the extensions, it's then impossible to trigger on the touchscreen.
closing all the instances will help, but, why not show the the address bar along with the toolbar in the customization page? - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από Impromptu1300, 8 μήνες πρινI only wish it was made simpler.
Compare with Apple's web apps, which strike the best balance between reasonable customization and simplicity (i.e. I don't need any of the profile configurations and what not, I just want a working app that will work always; that will adjust to my system and blend in nicely with it, from showing the right (shape of the) icon to behavior).
Right now some web apps, after being closed, don't work. I have to relaunch them. And not all pages can be made to web apps. - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από Emre Akar, 9 μήνες πριν

Edit to answer the reply: Yes, the behavior (reverting to the Firefox icon when pinned to the taskbar) happens with all the web apps (I created 10).Απάντηση προγραμματιστή
δημοσιεύτηκε στις ένας χρόνος πρινDoes it happen with all PWAs or just specific ones? If it's just some, it might be because they're using SVG icons, which aren't fully supported currently. That will be fixed in the future. - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από Wynte, ένας χρόνος πριν

Also, please create a discussion on GitHub: https://github.com/filips123/PWAsForFirefox/discussions - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από Jake Hall, ένας χρόνος πρινIt's a little finicky out of the box on Zorin OS, which defaults to flatpak Firefox. But I found I could switch to the snap version and have success installing the additional components necessary. I've also noticed I often need to launch PWAs twice, the first time they close immediately and the second launch they perform fine. I like being able to control whether the PWA uses it's own or a shared profile. I've found the shared profile useful for using Office365 apps like Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams which I need for work, but isolated profiles are great most of the time.

It asks for a lot of things when you install it, but then all ok -- only 4 stars because I personally prefer to "detach" the tabs, instead of going all over everything everytime... case: having my social media profile running, my firefox has all the extensions that I need/want, and I install the social media as a PWA... but then I have to do all over again as in the PWA there's a new profile, so no session, no extensions, nothing... I think this is the intention, but would be nice to have an option "use the base firefox profile instead of a new one"

Generally what I would expect is that if an app is already running, I can use spotlight or Alfred to take me to that running instance right away. That way I can rapidly navigate through the UI. However, with this extension, when I look for the name of my installed app and hit enter, if there's an instance running already, it doesn't care and creates a second instance, which completely breaks my navigation. Small thing, but it would be cool if it could be patched (other apps in system don't create another instance unless we explicitly tell them so, so it would be nice if this could be the case for this SSB solution as well)Απάντηση προγραμματιστή

If you have problems, please let me know on GitHub. - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από David Vales, 2 χρόνια πρινThat add-on is amazing, i really like it, but, the sessions synced log off on installed apps, for example, my icloud session is on in firefox tab, but in the pwa is logged out.
and the firefox sync service is apart for the runtime - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από Jason, 2 χρόνια πρινChanging my review... I hadn't followed the full instructions to install the extension, was more complicated than simply installing an extension but works now.

EDIT: Nevermind! You can just copy the shortcut that PWA creates into your startup folder.
Idea: I use this to create an AirMessage window to view iPhone texts. If I open a link in a message, it tries to open in the PWA app. Would it be possible to make links open up in my main FF installation?Απάντηση προγραμματιστή
δημοσιεύτηκε στις 3 χρόνια πρινYou can enable "open out-of-scope URLs in default browser" in the PWA settings to open message links in the main Firefox. You will also have to add "accounts.google.com" to the "Domains always allowed to be opened in the PWA browser" field. - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από Myrddin R Emrys, 3 χρόνια πρινIt has worked great to allow me to use Firefox to create a better-running NightRide.fm app than the chrome-based one otherwise available.
Thanks! - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από tobias hochguertel, 3 χρόνια πρινWorks so far well, but has the downside, that it runs complete seperated from the desktop firefox instance. I use it do have gmail as APP icon, and window seperated next to Firefox Browser open, but it has the downside that all Links which I click get open in the PWA instance, and not get handeled by the operation system setuped default app for links. I'm sure in the future that will get solved.

My one problem is it for some reason ignores XDG Portals on Linux meaning that KDE users are stuck with the terrible GTK file picker.Απάντηση προγραμματιστή
δημοσιεύτηκε στις 4 χρόνια πρινYou can enable XDG portals by setting `widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal` to `true` in `about:config` inside PWA profile (you can open `about:config` by pressing F6 and then typing it into the popup).
It seems Firefox by default never uses XDG portals, but distros with KDE instead set some environment variable (`GTK_USE_PORTAL=1`) that makes Firefox use portals. However, because FirefoxPWA launches the default Mozilla-provided Firefox without setting any additional environment variables, Firefox won't use portals unless you manually enable them in `about:config`. - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από Red, 4 χρόνια πριν

δημοσιεύτηκε στις 4 χρόνια πρινDoes it happen on all websites or just one? If just one, maybe the website is broken. Try to uncheck "Use the manifest for determining app properties" when installing it. If it happens on all websites, please open an issue on GitHub. - Βαθμολογία 4 από 5από Gilganyx, 4 χρόνια πριν
