Clicking the save button should trigger the Firefox native popup that comes from the beginning of address bar.
But from what I can see, the popup is displayed only first time you click the button.
Further clicks will close the native Firefox popup and you will need to click the "key" icon in the beginning of addressbar, which will re-open the native popup.

I've re-tested the addon now on my home PC where the old version was installed and clicking the button wouldn't trigger the popup, but after update, clicking it (while having some credentials entered) would trigger the popup.
So I'm 100% sure I've fixed "something" that was broken :), although I really can be sure anymore as obviously Firefox did changed the behavior and it may differ even across operating systems (I'm running Win 11).

Anyway, this addon is not as useful as before since Firefox now allows manually adding new passwords in their "about:logins" page, so maybe that will help you :).

Checking it now, you are right, Firefox no longer shows the save password modal!
But I think I've managed to fix it.
New version 3.0 was just approved and is available now.

The automatic toolbar pinning is indeed missing, thanks for pointing that out.
Note that it won't work on THIS page, because Firefox prevents addons from running here.
But it should work fine on all other normal pages.
