For anyone experiencing the below issue, if you're using FireFox you'll have to change the "Permissions" for Twitch in your browser.
If you go to Twitch.tv's main site, look at your URL/address line and you should see 3 icons: a shield, a lock, and... another icon. Don't know what it's supposed to represent. Click the 3rd icon and you should see an option for "Autoplay" and a drop-down menu. If you click the drop-down, select "Allow Audio and Video" and this will resolve the issue. Found this in a reddit thread and thought it might be useful to others.
Original Review:
Only giving this 1 star to get the developer's attention.
As of this post there seems to be an issue with this plugin and the website twitch.tv. I am unable to get audio while this plugin is enabled. When disabled audio plays fine through streams or VODs. Re-enabling the plugin, no sound is played (though the tab does note there is audio playing). Is there a known issue with Twitch and this plugin?
Otherwise, this is a 5 star plugin that replaced my previous audio balancing plugin after support was pulled.
Will update this review when addressed.Developer response
posted 13 days agoThe only problem I'm aware of with Twitch is clips not working because of this issue: https://github.com/vatara/firefox-audio-compressor/issues/2 where videos from a different host get muted by the browser. That's out of my control.
Other than that, it works fine on Twitch. You might have another plugin, like FFZ, that is also trying to compress the audio and it's conflicting, not sure what else it could be.
If you have more details you could post in this thread https://github.com/vatara/firefox-audio-compressor/issues/20 and I could try to replicate it. - Rated 5 out of 5by Tweedle, 5 months agoit actually WORKS!!! I had a compressor built-in to an "Improve YouTube" extension on Opera, but it wasn't made for Firefox.. and I couldn't fins ANY that would work on YT, let alone ALL the audio... but then I found this and it works GREAT! And I don't have to refresh any tabs or restart the browser either, it worked right away - THANK YOU DEV TEAM!!!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Taffernakus, a year agoIf like me you struggled to hear properly the vocals while watching Netflix, then this is your miracle add-on extension.
An absolute must for any Firefox user!
This Audio compression extension add-on works amazingly well on a DELL XPS 13 Late 2018 (9370) with the default audio drivers installed.
I could not believe how good these made the built-in stereo speakers sound.
Phenomenal work on the DEV's side!
Get it while you can and mess around with the parameters until you get the desired outcome. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16275961, a year agoPerfect, when listening to movies online this app lowers the volume of spikes, that is, weapon, loud music, explosions, etc., while keeping the dialogues at the same level. And also it has a functionality to boost sound, which makes it even better for audios with very loud sound.

It's great. It's very adjustable and the sound is pretty transparent. It activates automatically and reliably, unlike many other sound boosting addons (that either don't self activate reliably or have to be manually activated every time). It also doesn't mess up Youtube's playback speed options, they work correctly, also unlike other volume boosting addons. It doesn't work on every site under the sun, but works for many major streaming and music sites.
The only problem is that there are some audio stutters (especially on Youtube). They don't happen often, but kinda annoying. In it's defense, this is a problem that other volume boosting addons also have, so maybe there's just no way to have it working perfectly. - Rated 5 out of 5by cvinker, 2 years ago99% sites I've ever used work with it. Set it to medium and forget it, all YouTube videos improved now that I'm not constantly turning volume up, down and up and down over and over again. Thanks!
- Rated 5 out of 5by bl0m5t3r, 2 years agoI use this plugin mostly on Youtube for gamestreams as i got used to FFZ on Twitch which has a build in compressor, this works great. Today i tried it for the first time on Kick.com, seemed to have a few muting issues but i got it working now and works similarly nice. I like the site specific presets a lot, well done.
