- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14785703, 4 years agoThis app works but make sure you disable it while using Youtube due to it making that site quite sluggish. I finally narrowed down the app causing it, it is definitely Eno.
- Rated 1 out of 5by lumin8, 4 years agoUnlike many of the other 1 star reviews here, I'm not having an issue with whether or not the app actually works. It works perfectly fine. The problem is this app causes considerable lag on nearly all websites. I have a high-end PC, and this behavior is observed ONLY when the extension is turned on.
Turning the extension off immediately speeds up any website that uses heavy HTML/JS. I'm assuming the extension scrapes nearly every part of the website to look for a "credit card" field to suggest opening a credit card, but this is heavily taxing on the general speed of the browser. - Rated 1 out of 5by Zeviticus, 4 years agoDoesn't work. Likely, my credit card information is already stolen. STAY AWAY!
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16900483, 4 years agoDoesn't work! After setting this up, have purchased from Walmart on line twice and Target once. Had to use a different card.

- Rated 1 out of 5by wdspider, 4 years agoI have the same problem as ff_kwr where Eno keeps asking to sign in over and over and over. If I had to guess, it's because the CapOne site always loads into my Bank container while Eno is not part of that container. It's a pity that it doesn't work for multi account containers as I would really like to use this.
- Rated 1 out of 5by ff_kwr, 4 years agoGood concept but very poorly implemented and ultimately not usable. You can only use the add-on the very first time you install it. So I have to basically clear the browser cache and reinstall the whole thing again to manage the numbers. It just keeps saying "sign in with your browser" but after a million times of signing into the new window, it won't actually sign in. I have 2FA enabled.
To add insult to injury, these people did not build a way to simply manage your virtual cards in the capital one website interface. That's a level of hubris I have not seen from any developer worth their salt - to not create a fallback option in the web interface. Why not just let people create/manage virtual catds on CapOne online interface in case your plugin doesn't work (which based on the reviews, is clearly the case).Developer response
posted 4 years agoHi! Thanks for the review. We'd really like to chat more about this to see if we can drill down the exact issues you're having with the extension. If you can, please send us a DM on Twitter(@AskCapitalOne), or a private message on our official Facebook page. Thanks again! - Rated 1 out of 5by Flat, 4 years agoGreat feature but the extension is poorly written. It will use a considerable amount of thread time in firefox causing the entire browser to lag.

Thanks again. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14051185, 4 years agoIt doesn't like my phone number, the phone number I used an entire hour ago to verify my brand new capital one account.
Support couldn't help, their suggestion boiled down to "try again later".
I really wish I could just use a website instead of a shitty broken addon.
EDIT:
I am not on those platforms.
I was on the phone with your website support yesterday, if you think you can do better than your existing website support, please provide a reasonable support channel like an email address.Developer response

Would you be able to send us a DM to @AskCapitalOne on Twitter, or send us a private message on our official Facebook page? - Rated 1 out of 5by DFW, 4 years agoI have to restart via the website EVERY time I try to use this extension!! Anyone have a method to keep this from happening??
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16769282, 4 years agoDoes not work! Only says "Checking Session" indefinitely. Before the last update I had to re-register my card every time I wanted to use it. A real pain in the _ss to use.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Matthew L Daniel, 4 years agoas an update to my review, my experience has now crossed over into pure hatred for this piece of junk, and my opinion of Capital One has gone down because of it. How hard can it possibly be to just allow a not stupid login system like browsers have had for generations

It's a great security feature, but is a little hit-or-miss whether it logs in or not, and it makes me sad I can't just use it in my Banking container to generate numbers, since that defeats the purpose of having containers in FirefoxDeveloper response

Ubuntu Linux 21.10 Firefox 86.0. I wouldn't be caught dead on social media. If you need more information, jgd (at) neon-john.com.
I have always had "delete cookies on exit" set and will continue to do so and use the "manage cookies" feature to save vital cookies. You need to specify the third party cookie site that should be in the exceptions file. There is now "enable third party cookies" setting in this version of firefox.
suggestion: Instead of trying to figure out a CC input form, simply provide the user a button to create a new number for the current checkout page. Developer response

- Rated 1 out of 5by psychomuse, 4 years agoUpdate: Let me just start with my latest review of this extension- it's mostly broken. Not sure if it's simply related to FIrefox updates, but this extension rarely works these days. It's much more trouble than it's worth. I can no longer recommend its use.
Sadly, there is no other way (that I know of) to generate virtual card numbers without using the extension. So, that means the virtual cards feature is generally not available now.
It's disturbing that a company like Capital One would allow one of their financial products/services to be so unreliable.
Old review:
As usual, reviews are all love or hate (1 star or 5 star). Such absolutism (all-or-nothing think) is rarely useful to anyone. So, first, throw out all of the 1's and 5's and dig deeper into the reviews that have actual thoughtful analysis of the product.
In this particular experience, the Capital One add-on, Eno, is wonderfully useful... when it works. For me, a frequent online shopper, it provides two things I value highly: convenience and security. I love having it available at shopping sites, with all the info I need to complete the purchase. I don't have to look up my card info and manually fill it in. Very nice.
Sadly, some updates to Firefox and a few sites' code break the add-on. But I've found this to be true of many of the add-ons I use. Anytime an app or an operating system pushes out an update, it's not uncommon for software that interacts with it to break or have issues. So, this is not a particular sin of this add-on. It applies to many add-ons.
Most importantly, I love Eno and the feature from Capital One to use a virtual number. The add-on just makes it easier to use. One can still interact with the Capital One website to manage their virtual numbers. Due, once again to occasional breaks from browser updates or particular sites, I have had to get creative when using the feature. This can be frustrating.
It's not perfect, but overall, it works more than it doesn't, and the ability to generate a one-time use number is invaluable when it comes to online security. Keep in mind, the virtual number feature is very flexible. You can keep using the number for that particular site, but lock it, so it's only usable when you allow it, you can just delete it, or leave it unlocked for one particular merchant only (e.g. for a subscription).
If you're not using a virtual number, you are asking to be hacked. Get this add-on, take a deep breath when it breaks from time to time, and feel a whole lot better when you use your credit card online.Developer response

It gets stuck in the authentication step. I deleted all my cookies and cache for *capitalone*. Hopefully gets fixed because it was a very useful feature.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16630683, 4 years agoIt doesn't work at all. It looks like it is logging in and then it disappears. And the one time I did get it to assign a number, it got rejected by the site I was using. It's a total crock and waste of time and effort.
