- Rated 4 out of 5by Kougeru, 11 days agoLast update 6 years ago but it still works and it's become more needed than ever now that YouTube is defaulting to a super low bitrate AV1 that looks god awful. thank you, wherever you are
The downside is this also disables resolutions higher than 1080p. So we have to choose between uglier 140p - 1080p videos or no 1440p+. Ugh - Rated 4 out of 5by Belayet, 2 months agoYouTube now defaults to AV1. The extension was last updated 6 years ago, so it still only blocks VP8/VP9.
EDIT: After changing this setting to false in about:config it works: media.av1.enabled - Rated 4 out of 5by Craig, a year ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by SeriesE233, 2 years agoA must have for old laptops with no VP9 hardware decoding support. Just make sure that you can only watch videos up to 1080p.

- Rated 4 out of 5by HIPUNK, 8 years agoDoesn't really work. It's always avc codec, no matter what setting is set in h264ify, and when opening new youtube tabs 60fps isn't blocked.
Please fix?
UPDATE: Hmm, sometimes it works but not all of the time? Surely this needs some fixing. 4 out of 5 until then :) - Rated 4 out of 5by HSH Droid, 8 years ago
