by Kelson, 2 years agoKeePass lets you keep your own password vault on your own system, or sync using the service of your choice.
The browser extension takes a little effort to connect it to your desktop app the first time, but from that point on it mostly does its job and stays out of your way, detecting login forms and adding a button to fill in credentials you've stored with that URL in KeePassXC (When you have the desktop app open and the database unlocked).
Tips on matching websites to password entries:
1. General URLs will match better, like example.com instead of example.com/login?fromSignIn=true.
2. You can associate extra websites that use the same account by putting them in extra fields named KP2A_URL, KP2A_URL2, etc. in the desktop application. (Conveniently, these are the same fields KeePass2Android uses.)

- Rated 1 out of 5by Andrei, a month agoThis does not work at all. I am on Github login page with an open KeepassXC database that has an entry with given URL exactly at it appears in brower with /login and still it says "Error: no logins found. (github url but without /login)"
edit: i'm using the exact URL of github login page, with https, exactly as it appears in browser.Developer response
posted a month agoThis only means your entry has an invalid URL for the site. Try using the most simple form, for example https://example.com. The URL scheme also matters. Entry URLs starting with http are not valid for https sites. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18722527, a month agoIt doesn't work for me. Windows 11 ver 24H2, Firefox 133.0. Keepass XC ver 2.7.9.
It simply display: Error! No logins found.
Fixed. URL's are okay. Reinstalled Firefox and now it works. Thanks!Developer response

- Rated 5 out of 5by abunakov, 2 months agoI'm giving this add-on 5 stars because a) this add-on works great, b) I want to thank the devs (thank you guys!), and c) I want to improve the average rating lowered by people who are quick to give 1 star ratings but who are actually unable to even read the docs -- educate yourself please.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Nick Richards, 2 months agoAs other users have mentioned, on ubuntu derived distributions this extension works with native browsers but not any browsers installed via snap or flatpak. This is a very problematic flaw on any ubuntu-related operating system! Unfortunately, it has made this extension virtually unusable for me.

posted 2 months agoOne star reviews about this are understandable, but after all it is 100% a Snap issue, not a bug in the extension itself. - Rated 5 out of 5by ZimniY, 2 months ago
