Reviews for Orbit [Beta]: AI Assistant and Content Summarizer
Orbit [Beta]: AI Assistant and Content Summarizer by Firefox

by Ollie, 4 months agoI've found Orbit to be decently useful for me so far as a summary tool. I like the fact that it seems designed with that main purpose in mind. I also very much appreciate the steps taken to preserve user privacy.
My number one request however would be to include a Dark Mode option for the panels and widget. The current light theme clashes heavily with my dark browser theme and pages using a dark layout.
I'll definitely continue using this add-on, and I look forward to seeing how it develops with future updates.
EDIT: They have since added a dark mode, so that's a 5 stars from me! Thank you devs!

- Don't let the cat out of the bag, but customized prompt is coming soon.
- After you select text, orbit is available in the "right-click" menu. (We removed the functionality where selecting text automatically pops up the tool due to negative feedback) - Rated 3 out of 5by John Doe, 11 days agoFirefox Orbit is a decent summarization tool, but it falls short for users who want flexibility. It does not support external API keys like Google Gemini or OpenAI, making it useless for those who prefer other AI models.
Since it's not open source and doesn’t allow custom APIs, its claims about privacy and data security feel questionable. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18531801, 11 days ago

We're currently testing a few models that support additional languages. Hopefully we'll be able to support Swedish in the near future. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18568639, a month ago

I love using it to recap news, company updates, and lengthy articles where I just need a quick summary to share out. I also feel better knowing the AI doesnt train from my data. Excited to see where Orbit goes from here!
