- Rated 1 out of 5by AwJa, a year agoBEWARE! They are now anti-ad-blocking, claiming the need for revenue. They are blocking use of the search engine completely, unless ad blocking is disabled. It is insane to believe that this solution will not rely on shared meta data, now. This is what typically happens right before this sort of thing sells out to the data brokers. It was great while it lasted, but I have no doubt that QWANT will soon collect and sell our data (no matter what empty promises they make, just as they all do.) I am sad to have to go broadcast to everyone I recommended them to over the last year or so that they should drop this immediately and find another way.

- Rated 1 out of 5by PAT1, 3 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17438999, 3 years agoLes réponses instantanées sont pauvres.
Merci. - Rated 1 out of 5by Georges_Paul, 3 years agoExtremely sketchy that the apps suddenly asks for new permissions with no clear explanation. The replies by the devs are on the level of "trust me bro it's all good". Highly recommend staying away from this. Go for Qwant lite instead.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Dave.s, 3 years agoTwo years after the developer claimed that they were going to change this add-on so that it did not change the homepage to their own without warning it just has when I installed it in April 2022. I've reported it to Firefox and uninstalled.

- Rated 1 out of 5by RadioFan, 4 years agoThank you, all one-star reviewers. I was about to install it as my default SE but quickly found it as too underhanded. You saved me serious headaches!

- Rated 1 out of 5by Sergey Twersky, 4 years agoHi there! I have already written to your contact mail, but I will repeat the information here as well. For about a month, if I choose Russia as region in Qwant, the search does not show results, there is always "no results found". This problem is repeated in all popular browsers, including on a mobile device running an android, both with and without vpn, so I don't think it's a problem on my part. I like your search, so I hope you can fix it. :)
- Rated 1 out of 5by Naresh, 4 years agoThis add-on takes over my privacy controls and does not allow me to disable those features. I simply want to set the search engine as default, not buy into an entire ecosystem. Sad.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12659227, 4 years agoDirects new tab page to it's own choice and cannot be changed. I've uninstalled it for that reason, NO addon or software in general controls what I do with my PC. I found search results nowhere near as good as Google or DuckDuckGo (which makes similar privacy claims) and heavily USA biased, despite setting my own country.
The redirction of my home page was the final straw. I found the add-on from another page and didn't check the reviews here. I wish I had, I wouldn't have even considered installing it if I'd known about the hijacking of my homw page.
Note to developer - you can see how unpopular the hijhacking is, you would do well to change it because it's a liability and will sink you. - Rated 1 out of 5by Irongut, 5 years agoThis extension claims to add an alternative search engine that is privacy focused, which it does, but it also acts like a virus and takes over your browser. It changes your home page and takes over control of tracking protection. Installing Quant REDUCED my privacy by turning off some of Firefox's built in tracking protection. There is no need for this behaviour just to add a search engine, I will be uninstalling now and recommending people avoid this malware.
Developer response
posted 5 years agoHello, we're really sorry that the add-on does not meet you expectations.
If you only want the SE (and not the homepage and privacy settings change) you can install our other add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/qwant-com/
Nevertheless, can you please explain us what where the reductions in you privacy settings? We're really curious and will absolutely improve this point.
Thank you for your feedback.
