by White_Oz, 8 years agoFirst of all: A BIG THANK YOU! This is looking very good! FF after 56 was a big regression!
Tab groups should be part(optionally or not) of every FF, like tabs are. I mean if you have files, you have to have folders/directories!
In order to be 100% helpful, tabs, have to have 4 important things:
1. Free arrange and rename the tab groups;
2. Saving the session at will and automatically(every hour or so) before FF crashes or is closed normally;
3. Possibility to move tabs from one group to another.
4. A "tab group bar" above the tab bar, with a button to hide/show the "tab group bar".
I guess you have already covered most of this and I hope you will do your best for the others!
Cheers !
EDIT : take a look at this: https://postimg.cc/SJhgfGdn
for clarification about paragraph 4. See that green T to the right of the tab bar....that is the button with which left click show/hide the "tab group bar".

Free arrange - in plans
Auto Backup copies (in addon settings) and move tabs from one group to another (tab context menu) are already in the latest version, you need Firefox 63 and STG v3.3.2
Paragraph 4 I do not quite understand))
Thanks for your feedback!

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19937432, 8 days agoWorked well until recently. Now every time you open FF after closing it, some of the tab groups are in different windows, some might be empty, and the backups just aren't there. This extension has totally lost its purpose as being able to save what you're doing through restarts.
- Rated 4 out of 5by EnergyMover, 13 days agoRestore backup no longer works with firefox May 13 2026 update! Looks like an abandoned extension. Been over a year since last updated. What a shame. It was the best of its kind!

- Rated 4 out of 5by antonavy, a month agoIt's really a good option for the lack of a better one... It gets the job done by hiding tabs from other "workspaces" into the hidden tabs list. Didn't notice a lot of bugs.
But a few things that really push me to use other browsers: it's not as elegant, very simple design, doesn't feel native and natural (compared to vivaldi, arc, zen, opera, etc); and two very annoying things: tab groups don't hidden, but are kinda empty, but still show previews, which brakes immersion and the fact that it spawns a directory every single day in your home folder ("STG-..."), and never cleans it up. - Rated 5 out of 5by Ron Elicit, a month agoMy favorite browser extension, hands down. Yes, the last Firefox update broke it. Need your tabs back? Settings > Backup Your Simple Tab Groups > Enable Auto-backup (you should be doing this anyway). Then Restore Backup every time you relaunch Firefox. (I delete existing data and revert to my last save.)
That's how I'm managing until the maintainer updates this extension. (Based on their location in Ukraine, I'm willing to give them some slack.) - Rated 4 out of 5by CarlosTorch, 2 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by rbx4, 2 months agoI don't know why anyone would use this. Does not reliably save tab groups.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14179354, 2 months agokeeps crashing when trying to restore backup. tab groups load but not the pages in them.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16987590, 2 months agoIt's okay. But your max is going to be 4 groups before tabs/browser starts to feel laggy on MacOS.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19799423, 2 months agoUnfortunately, the add-on no longer works with the current version of Firefox.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14589876, 2 months agoК сожалению, дополнение неисправно. При попытке восстановить группы из резервной копии, браузер просто падает и восстанавливаются пустые группы.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Ubirajara1000, 4 months agoSimplesmente NÃO funciona. Gastei mais de 3h criando grupos, mas a extensão SINGLE TAB GROUPS simplesmente não grava os grupos que criei e os apaga sempre.
- Rated 1 out of 5by FireFox-User-1, 4 months agoNope, great Idea but every some updates it kills everything and is not relaible. Now lost 200 tabs ....

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14520466, 4 months agoAll open tabs that were not in a group suddenly disappeared, as I was managing groups. They only reappeared again when the extension was uninstalled. That's a terrible user experience. Avoid.
- Rated 5 out of 5by andres, 4 months agoThis is a super helpful extension!
There is one thing that could be improved. It would be great if the native Firefox groups remained related to the tab group. When I switch groups using Simple Tab Groups, the Firefox groups disappear along with the tabs. It's like having tabs and groups within groups. - Rated 5 out of 5by Hugo, 4 months agoExactly what I have been looking for. I love that you can have multiple groups that share the same container. I use it to separate school subjects, but I want every school subject to be in the school container. I also like the automatic tab unloading feature that saves ram.
