- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13543470, 7 years agoMuch better with the editable short-cuts10 points!
I also notice groups of tabs building up if I pull windows out from the original window.
this addon is getting there keep up the great work. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13718663, 7 years agoLove this extension - progress and completeness to date.
It is solely responsible for switch back to ffox after drop-kick of ffox-57 lost 2 must-have extensions - tab-group and session-manager.
With SimpleTabGroup(2.3)
A bit disconcerting to have lost history on tabs when switch back to a group after switching away
- have to see if thats workable or can wait till mozilla's blocking api bugs fixed.
Good job on the tabs in groups grid layout - hope some more devt goes into this to have smaller group boxes/collapsed contents
so can see all groups on one page and can drag groups more directly to reorder groups more easily.
Good that can reorder groups on selection popup
(The popup list of Groups for selection to change to (edit, delete) is currently workable for smaller numbers of groups but miss the full page (grid) display for when have a lot of them - maybe its just a change I need to get used to
perhaps default icon for a group could be the mini webicon for the first Tab in it ???
- save individualy soecifying the icon for each group
Kudos to all involved in the effort made and progress so far..... ab-so-lutely f* Fabulous extn. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13717508, 7 years agoThe tab hiding API has landed in the newest nightly.

- Rated 5 out of 5by tomeu, 7 years agoits a great add-on. very useful for organizing tabs. The regular expression feature is really a good one. Thank you very much.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Red Fox, 7 years agoThis add-on creates the duplicate group each time I start Firefox. Idea of add-on is good, but this error makes it not convenient.

Thanks for your feedback - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13698407, 7 years agoHi, thank you for this valuable extension.
I just started using it yesterday. Today, when I open the menu and click Manage Groups, the Manage Groups tab opens, but the groups are not shown, I refreshed but still they don't appear, though they are still on the menu list and I can switch between them from there alright. I have 8 groups with a total of like 100 tabs. What could be the problem?
One more thing, there's one review below (to which you replied with screenshots) about when moving several tabs, scrolling down to the bottom inside Group A to pick a tab, then move it to Group B, Group A scrolls back up to the top automatically, which means you have to scroll down again and again in Group A to pick other tabs. This is somewhat annoying and i believe your reply there did not address the exact issue.
Finally, in the Manage Groups tab, I hope you could add the ability to select several tabs and several groups together by pressing the Shift or Ctrl keys while selecting, that would help reorganize things faster.
Thank you.Developer response

Shift or Ctrl keys I will add in future versions.
Thanks for your feedback - Rated 5 out of 5by Oliv, 7 years agoGreat add, the best replacement of previous Tab Groups add.
To avoid reloading all tabs when switching groups (which can easily make Firefox slow down a lot), install the
Tab Suspender add,
which will suspend your tabs (equivalent to close but still displayed), and you can reload each of them one by one by clicking on them - convenient !Developer response
posted 7 years agoYou can and do not install the add-on "Tab Suspender" since version 2.1 does not load tabs when changing groups. This functionality is similar to the add-on "Tab Suspender"
Thanks for your feedback! - Rated 4 out of 5by Alexander Helz, 7 years agoGreat Add-on
So far its good as the old Tab Groups
But there are two things that i dont like it, can you tell me how to fix it?
1: When i drag and drop tabs from group A to group B, the tab i need to transfer at the bottom of group A ( around 150 tabs in group A ). So after i dragged and dropped the tab, the scroll automatic go to the start of the list, so i have to scroll down again and again to move other tabs.
2: Auto rename and auto reload tabs when switch groups, i have lots of tabs so after switch groups my pc kind of lagging.
Hope you can tell me a good solution for those 2 problems i haveDeveloper response

Thanks for your feedback! - Rated 4 out of 5by NGM, 7 years agoGreat "Manage groups" This is what we need. Thank you for updating quick and powerful.
- Rated 4 out of 5by RogueKitsune, 7 years agoLike other I am switching over from Quicksaver's Tab Groups, so there will be plenty of comparisons to it.
The Good...
Pretty much everything UI related is better compared to Tab Groups. I like being able to set an image or colour to group. The menus and such also seem much more responsive.
The Ok...
I like that there are keyboard shortcuts but I would really like to be able to change the keybinding back to "ctrl + `" and "ctrl + shift + `"
The Bad...
Migrating from Quicksaver's Tab Groups to Simple Tab Groups was a bit rough. First I made sure to "back up" my tab groups by bookmarking them in folder named after their group. Then I installed Simple Tab Groups and disabled Tab Groups. After restarting only a few of my tabs showed up in a group even though the group had a tab count 563. So I restarted Firefox again. This time all my tabs showed up but I now had two groups with each with a copy of all my tabs. Repeating opening and closing Firefox continued the duplication of the group even after I started moving tabs into groups. To fix this I had to close all open tabs and restart. After that everything started working fine.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that this addon doesn't really like the about:* pages. Opening, for example about:config, does not bind it to a specific group instead it acts more like a pinned tab. In addition about:newtab does not load correctly when coming back to it (search bar, top sites, etc. don't show up)
The Ugly...
I know nothing can be done about it at this time but I still have to complain about it. I hate how this addon switches between groups. Essentially all the "current" tabs are closed and then new tabs are opened with the URLs from the other group.
TLDR
Good addon, but has some areas that need improvement
Disclaimer:
I only run nightly builds of Firefox, so there is a chance the issues I saw were caused by some change/defect in Firefox.Developer response
posted 7 years agoPlease update add-on to latest version (v2.2)
In this version I fix duplicate groups/tabs.
About "about:config" and etc.: this is not supported bu Firefox WebExtentions API
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/tabs/create
For security reasons, in Firefox, this may not be a privileged URL. So passing any of the following URLs will fail:
chrome: URLs
javascript: URLs
data: URLs
file: URLs (i.e., files on the filesystem. However, to use a file packaged inside the extension, see below)
privileged about: URLs (for example, about:config, about:addons, about:debugging). Non-privileged URLs (e.g., about:blank) are allowed.
The New Tab page (about:newtab) can be opened if no value for URL is provided.
Version 2.1 and above has option to fast group switching (in options page)
Thanks for your feedback! - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13688369, 7 years agoI installed this add-on to replace the Quicksaver add-on so I have to compare this with the Quicksaver add-on.
What I liked is the coloring and the UIs.
But I have some serious issues with this add-on:
The way how it works: Every tab is saved as an URL like "moz-extension://...url=...". When you switch tabs, the tabs of the current group are closed and tabs of the new group are opened. If you click on the tab it takes an additional time to load the tab.
This process costs a lot of time if you have many tabs.
It took me about 10-20 minutes to switch a tab group - to be fair, that one specific tab group had about 2500 tabs which is a lot.
The second big issue is that you lose all your tabs if you uninstall the add-on:
Actually I still have my tabs, but they are stored with the URL "moz-extension://...." and therefore my opened tabs are practically unsuable, but also the history is. Now I have to write my own plugin to remove that prefix from the URL and hopefully I can work again.
Normally I would rate it one star because it was practically unusable for me but to be fair having 2500 open tabs I am not a normal user and I guess there are technical limitations that prevent the tabs to be "hidden" and you have to do it that way with the URL prefixes.Developer response
posted 7 years agoIf you are "not a normal user", then you should understand that I currently do not have the ability to hide tabs because of the limitations of the Firefox WebExtensions API.
If you are "not a normal user", you could go into the settings and remove the checkbox "Enable fast group switching" - and this will disable the functionality that you did not like so much, namely: the URL like "moz-extension://...url=...". You have 2500 tabs - I understand what you have a problem.
About the fact that when you delete the extension there are tabs with the prefix moz-extension - this bug I'll postfix, thank you for finding it.

Thanks for your feedback! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13527587, 7 years agoПо настоящему нужная в работе вещь.
Developer response
posted 7 years agoВозможно обновление не произошло потому что было вручную отключено на странице настройки аддона, или отключено вовсе. Иных объяснений у меня нет.

Thanks for your feedback! - Rated 4 out of 5by Meridith, 7 years agoIt isn't really super bad. If you ignore the fact that it adds random groups, duplicates tabs into other groups, deletes tab groups, has basically no instructions, forgets/deletes all tab groups and all that. As I said, if you ignore all that, it's alright.
EDIT: It has since been fixed, quite quickly to.Developer response

Thanks for your feedback! - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13682181, 7 years agoUpdated to new version yesterday and moved a group up using drag and drop. Today when I go into a group I get an error message saying it is NULL. Then this error extends to all the following groups. I have lost half my groups. Every time I load a group it opens an additional New Tab to the group. Not happy!!!
