posted 2 months agoThis sounds like a Firefox UI issue, not a Startpage one. If you need help uninstalling our extension or anything Startpage related, get in touch at support@startpage.com. Hang in there.
And here's where to leave feedback for Firefox to add us as a default option (meaning an extension would not be required to use Startpage as the default search engine in Firefox).

What good is privacy if we can't find anything to begin with? Quotations, plus symbols, and ampersands are all ignored, the only operator that works is the minus operator
Edit:
Well, some work, as for it working the same as bing that would be correct, because they don't work on bing either. As for google, in combination with verbatim mode they actually do work. On startpage it depends, the site: filetype: and intitle: operators work, as does the - operator, but the "" and + operators, which are essentially verbatim operators, are generally ignored entirely, which is extremely annoying tbhDeveloper response
posted a year agoAdvanced searches on Startpage, including exact match, perform the same as on Google and Bing, which is to say that they work, but are not applied in 100% of searches. More information can be found here:

- Rated 3 out of 5by None of your business, 3 years agoWhile startpage is great as a site, the extension leaks information by using GET instead of POST, even though it is explicitly set to POST in settings AND exempting the site from cookie autodelete. This is a serious issue and needs to be addressed ASAP. I stopped using Duckduckgo because of this. Just FYI.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16472402, 4 years agoI have been using Startpage/ixquick as my browser's default search engine for a long time (10-20 years) and been very happy with it. But now I'm getting CAPTCHAs and they are annoying. I have changed my search engine.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13789803, 7 years agoI would use it, but it's forcing me to use the Polish version. I want to use the English version. I can't find a setting to change it, either.
Edit: It turns out I had to install a specific version of firefox to get this addon in English. Is it not possible to add a setting that allows changing the language, though?
