UPDATE: My original review is still valid and I was never able to figure out the reason for the extension not working. However I have since installed firefox and the extension on a new computer with identical set up and it has worked perfectly and as expected. So i am changing my stars and amending the review, but still leaving the old one in case it happens to others.

I love TunnelBear as a company and I am a premium user of their VPN service and while the UI looks and works great. After turning on supposedly connecting to different countries going to any whats my ip websites there was no change. If it can't even mask my ip then there is no point to this extension. Tried reinstalling, but nothing changed. I really like the idea and hopefully they will get this working soon.

I love this VPN Service! Although I do wish it was free for premium; but that's unrealistic, for one thing. Another thing I have to say about this service is even the free they offer is not bad at all, and they at least offer a free version for those of us who are broker than jokes.

I can't speak for all the features or anything due to not having premium, but based on using the free version I can say a few things about it.
First thing I'll mention is the easy to use UI (User Interface) and overall clean, simplistic (but not basic), and easy to read/see. This I'm sure wouldn't be much different on premium.
Second I'll mention that I love the 500 free a month, I think that's more than fair.
Third and lastly for now that I can think of is all of the offers for extra free megs/gigs for free by Tweeting, etc...

Awesome extension and service! Needed this to enable Face grouping / recognition in Google Photos since I live in Europe where that feature can't be enabled :'(

With this great extension I enabled TunnelBear went to photos.google.com -> settings and enabled face grouping! As simple as that!

Worked like a charm and their free plan with 250 (500MB if you signup for free plan) was more than enough!

I Will save this extension for another rainy day where I need to access a site from another location c",)
