by Dalton, 2 years agoWorks great most of the time. However the new requirement for a companion app is a bummer, though from what I gather, this is not the fault of the developer as I used this back before it required a companion app.
My one complaint to the developer is a minor one, I have multiple disks in my system, some SSDs some old style hard drives (spinning disks)... I would prefer if all intermediate files during download were stored in the same destination folder (or at least in a temporary folder on the same disk or volume as the destination folder) instead of the system temporary folder. Minor complaint though and the extension works great under Firefox, works better under Firefox than on Chrome... especially on certain video streaming sites where the Firefox version works but no Chrome video downloaders I have used seem to work.
The Firefox version (this version) works the best out of all video downloader extensions I have tried so far... a close second to YoutubeDL back when it was available in my region and only because YoutubeDL could be set up to run on a small, light machine all night and throttled down to save bandwidth while my laptop (where this runs) can be used normally. Still, for a browser extension to quickly save a video I want to access when I go offline or in between WiFi locations, this is the best I have used so far.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Anonymous Fox, 16 hours agoPhenomenal extension! When asking advice on how to rip videos, other users gave me the "utilize developer tools" trick, when all I needed was this one extension. It didn't just save videos- it saved me a headache. Thank you Dev's ~

- Rated 5 out of 5by SusilaGuy, 3 days agoI've used this extension over at least 5 years. It has become particulary effective since it added the 2nd program running as a Window's service a couple of years ago. I love it and find it effective in almost all situations. Thanks creators! A great product!! 😁
FYI - I'm on Windows 10 on an old 2-core AMD computer but with lots of memory. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15229386, 3 days ago
