- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13438277, 7 years agoFinally, a vimperator replacement that works with the latest versions of firefox! I love the super simple JSON config - it was easy to make tab switching match vimperator. Looking forward to getting search highlighting as an option.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13426981, 7 years agoTotally blew my mind - I can use new version of Firefox, because Vimperator reincarnated in form of Vim Vixen! I am so happy...
- Rated 5 out of 5by thojac, 7 years agoStill young, but a promising start for this vim extension. Thanks!
- Rated 4 out of 5by gypsydave5, 7 years agoBest replacement so far for my beloved Vimperator. There's an (incredibly basic) console up and running, and most of the commands I've grown used to. Would be nice to have incremental link matching. Good work, and a good start. Let's look forward to so much more!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13314696, 7 years agoI have missed pentadactyl so, so much for years now. VimFX was pretty good in FF 54-56, and then I tried Vimium as a replacement, and that was broken, and then I tried Saka Key and that was ... really weird.
This is *the perfect* replacement for Pentadactyl and holy cow is it fast! Thanks! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13114653, 7 years agoGreat feature philosophy. I did not expect this extension to come out, nor did I expect it to completely replace the rather broken vimium that I had to suffer through until now.
Note that this does not (and will never) have feature parity with vimperator/pentadactyl. Honestly, that's a good thing: Both of those extensions were badly broken and decimated browser performance. The only issues that I have with this addon are strictly Firefox's limitations on webextensions (the most egregious of which is the inability to use this addon when it's on a 'system' page like a new tab. - Rated 5 out of 5by Quentin Revel, 7 years agoI have been a user of Vimperator for many years now but the project is no longer maintained.
Vixen is the closest replacement I found.
I can't wait to see its evolution.
Thank you so much - Rated 5 out of 5by Pablo Alvarez, 7 years agoIt's a viable replacement for the now legacy VimFx. Vixen is noticeably speedier and feels lighter.
Unfortunately it won't run on Firefox's own pages (like the Add-ons Manager) but as a WebExtension there's nothing to be done about this.
Currently it won't detect all the clickable elements VimFx detects, and there's no option to automatically disable it on certain sites (the last being a minor annoyance since it lets you disable it manually).
On the plus side it features console input while VimFx doesn't, and has a very simple configuration file that is easy to edit.
Overall this extension delivers what is expected and is the go to Vim addon for the new Firefox 57 and onwards. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13272507, 7 years agoFirefox without a VIM-ish extension is so awkward anymore. I wish this could work to all pages (e.g., FF'S own Add-ons page, error pages, etc.) but I believe that's a just a limitation of WebExtensions (for the sake of security). My habits will just have to learn to adapt.
I'm using this with the Textern add-on so that I can use gvim to edit text areas. They are happily working together.
I prefer the simplicity of the configuration as JSON, though would perhaps prefer it to be external so that I could keep it under Git. For such a young new add-on, it's off to a great start! - Rated 5 out of 5by lihongwu, 7 years agoQuite many keybindings are the same, which I feel very comfortable with. Hopefully this add-on is inheriting the dactyl philosophy in the long run and become a perfect replacement.
- Rated 4 out of 5by jimogsh, 7 years agoI think this is the closest webextension addon to pentadactyl, hope the developer can improve the settings and features!
