Used to break functionalities in Google Sheets and other Google Drive products, but the developer heard us and fixed it with the latest release (1.27.3)!

It's great until it's not. In my case a [var]=/[value] becomes [var]=%2F[value] and broke the website. Please consider, for the least, adding a whitelist function.

Good for Amazon, but really buggy for other stuff. Glitchy when I tried to search stuff up (flickering urls literally every time), removed ability to implement certain features when I was trying to use Google Sheets. Finally figured out this was the issue. More trouble than it's worth.

This extension breaks the functionality of Google Search's "AI Overview"
If there are any workarounds or any possible blacklist/whitelist feature, please let me know, as this caused a lot of frustration.
This is an excellent extension, but I have to leave it at a 1/5, for now.

In theory a great extension, but it has a lot of open bugs, that make many websites pretty much unusable.
One example that I was affected is Github: github[.]com/ClearURLs/Addon/issues/410
It took me a while to figure out that ClearURLs was the root cause for my issues.

Very nice addion but why mobile version have latest 1.27 but desktop have old 1.26 ?

A seriously broken release took weeks to roll back. Other reviews have mentioned various impacts of this. One that affected me, but no one else has mentioned, is that Google started requiring captchas for me from every search, due to "unusual activity from your computer network". That was very burdensome and time-consuming for me.

Sorry, I'm uninstalling as I don't want to take the risk of this happening again.

Great & original idea, thank you for you hard work👍🏻 It would be helpful to enable exemptions like with e.g. uBlock as it inhibits some shopping sites!

Very good extension and works well. makes URLs shorter, which is good for sharing the URL, and makes it have less tracking elements. A lot of the problems with flickering URLs has also been fixed which is great to see.

It does the job, but for the last few weeks there were some problems I noticed. When I was searching in DuckDuckGo, the URL was flickering for some reason (the lines after "&" was appearing and disappearing). But it didn't affect my experience so it was fine. However I also had trouble logging in to Crunchyroll and was getting Error 500. At the time I didn't know what was causing the error, but when I temporarily turned off this extension I was able to login again.

After days of flickering URLs driving me crazy, I finally spent an hour or so disabling and testing a simple ddg.co search for the flickering issue.

The flicking URL is caused by ClearURLs!

Too bad but it drives me nuts and no matter the positive features of the add-on, it has to go.

Awful! I uninstalled it. At first, there was just a flicker in the URL. The developer was informed and promised an update, but I installed the latest version (1.27.1) dated January 15, 2025, and it's worse than before, it doesn't work at all. Web pages slow down considerably, to the point of freezing my computer and having to restart it.

It has been breaking practically all major websites for months, including Microsoft, YouTube, Instagram, and Google Search.

For example, on YouTube, when I search for "Test Video", the params in the URL should look like this: "results?search_query=Test+Video&sp=CAI%253D," but the addon removes the "&sp" param, destroying my filter, and the URL is like flickering because it removes and adds the + multiple times until the URL is so broken that the website freezes or is lagging when scrolling. When clicking on a video, the URL gets completely destroyed and gets a mix-up of the search and video URLs, or sometimes it just doesn't show the video URL and removes all params and just shows the base URL.

In this state, the addon is not usable.

Has started breaking many websites. Voice.google.com for example; other reviews mention a bunch more.
