it now asks permission to view all of your browsing data and the contents of all pages you visit.

This change took power on November 3rd. However, the last time I updated the extension was on 14th of November (you can see it by clicking RMB on the extension, then 'manage extension'), which proves their reason is made up.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 14 díasAs per the Mozilla article, developers had until the first half of 2026 to adhere to the changes. You can also view the exact changes we took for yourself: https://github.com/SevenTV/Extension/pull/1189/changes. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 19948776, hace 15 días

I understand it is needed in order to display your emotes and whatnot but in my opinion the devs should read out the relevant websites ONLY, not ALL of them.
Totally ridiculous, if you ask me.
I take my privacy quite seriously, hence my 1-star rating. Obviously, I've also uninstalled it.
Until the devs change this, my review shall remain neutral.

Edited on 25 May 2026:
Developer(s) have responded to my concerns - if what they claim is true, this is quite unfortunate.
Bumping up my rather negative 1 star to 4 stars.
I wish Mozilla would allow granular control over what websites are read/transmitted, meaning that this extension has to read any and all websites - it is something that the developers have no control over, sadly. They have come forward explaining what they collect and why, and I'm quite happy with that. The extension does work well, and if you cannot live without your animated emotes, well then you have no choice.
I also realised my negative sentiments are better directed at Mozilla and how they have implemented their data consent flow.
Thank you for responding @7tv team, I appreciated that.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 15 díasHello, I understand your concern. I'd like to make it clear that we are unable to specify which website(s) we ask data consent for. Firefox's data consent flow only gives us the option to specify whether or not we collect/transmit said data type. For more information, see: https://extensionworkshop.com/documentation/develop/firefox-builtin-data-consent/.
The "browsingActivity" data consent is exclusively used to transmit your user presence on Twitch/Kick, so that your cosmetics show up in chat. We do not store this data.
The "websiteContent" data consent is only there for the "/song" command, as it sends a snippet of the stream you're watching to the AudD Music Recognition API. - Se valoró con 1 de 5por Bisnesmies, hace 15 díasExtension broke chat box so you have to update it and give your data as part of the update.

This has always been the case, but the consent screen is part of a newer Firefox initiative: https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2025/10/23/data-collection-consent-changes-for-new-firefox-extensions/ - Se valoró con 5 de 5por StefDarkBlood, hace 16 días

- Se valoró con 5 de 5por Nekim_kraqua, hace 17 días
