- Se valoró con 5 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 18727640, hace un añoI have used it only on YouTube and it managed to find all the songs so far, even those that were overlapped with someone's voice or other sound effects. Will change my review if enshittification happens.
- Se valoró con 4 de 5por william, hace un añoWorked great the first few times I've used it, but now whenever I try and identify a song on YouTube (and other sites) using this, I get this error:
"Recognition failed: authorization failed: no api_token passed and the limit was reached. Get an api_token from dashboard.audd.io and make sure you're passing the token in the `api_token` parameter."
What should I do because I don't want to pay for the API thing?
edit 2/23/2025: it somehow started working again I guess? the audio mutes when I activate the extension but it actually recognized some of the song I played.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 6 mesesWe’ve fixed the issue that was causing the audio to be muted!
Starting with version 3.2.4 (it's live now! you can update the extension in Extensions -> Settings -> Check for Updates), audio should not be muted on any websites, and audio recording should work perfectly almost everywhere, including basically all video players.
(Thanks for taking the time to write the review! It marginally prompted us to actually spend effort figuring out the issue, getting help from the community, and finally fixing it. That took hundreds of lines of fairly complicated code.) Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace un añoYou can find the extension's source code at https://github.com/AudDMusic/firefox-extension.
The only information the extension sends us is information about the current tab when the add-on is opened and the corresponding recorded audio.
We do not sell any user information. The extension does not show any ads.- Se valoró con 2 de 5por Mikaïl, hace un añoDidn't work 20% of the time.
Didn't give me the right song 50% of the time.
And gave me songs that didn't exist 30% of the time.
Two stars because it at least worked once. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por mooney, hace un año

1) Before using, I read other reviews stating the same thing.
2) When I first tried to use it without an API token, it did not find any songs I tried. I then opened Settings and saw a field for an API token and the words "API token, paste it below" and thought that it must not work without an API token. I signed up for the API token (not knowing the API is a separate product) and after creating an account the dashboard shows that the user is on a 2-week Free Trial. I thought this applied to the extension, not the API.
3) There is a link on the main extension page to a Privacy Policy which differed from the one I read on the API dashboard, which further contributed to my impression that it is a paid extension, as I was unaware they are two separate products.
Now that I have read the Developer response, when I go to Settings, I can clearly see that it reads "If you're subscribed to the AudD® Music recognition API and have an API token, paste it below." I didn't notice this at first and thought the API token was required.
I have tried it and you can indeed use the extension to find songs without any API token. I gave the extension four stars instead of five only because the AHA extension is still better at actual song recognition. Thanks for the response developer! My apologies for assuming the worst in my original review.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace un añoApologies for causing confusion; the extension does not require a sign-up. You can use it without an API token. The API token field is for people with an active subscription. The free trial is for our API product and shouldn’t be used in the extension; the extension works without an API account and is completely free.
Extension users are subject to the add-on's privacy policy. Website sign-ups are not required to use the add-on.
(Thanks for taking the time to review! It’s valuable to know people might think a token is required; we’ll make changes to make it clear that it’s not.

If there are any particular songs AHA recognizes that we don't, please also let us know- our music recognition accuracy should be higher on average - Se valoró con 1 de 5por Josxy, hace un añoDoesn't work on Reddit. It just says "start error: can't find any unpaused media elements." when a video is playing.
Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace un añoUnfortunately, some websites play audio in isolated elements, which prevents it from being captured by a Firefox extension. On Reddit, the solution would be to mention u/auddbot, which will identify the song. Alternatively, you can use our Chrome extension. - Se valoró con 4 de 5por OKDmrz, hace un añoMusic recognition works pretty well, but I think the widget could use some UI improvements. Like managing individual songs from the history (not just clear the entire list) and also a way to just view the list even if current tab is still playing music. Also synchronizing listening history across different devices would be great.
Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace un añoThanks, we'll take these improvements into consideration. Everything except for synchronizing the history seems very doable! - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Mayank, hace un añoThis addon is magical. It identifies background music/score from youtube videos and matches it *to the exact second of the original music* and then redirects me to a page that has multitude of options where I can hear the original music. Absolutely love this addon!
- Se valoró con 3 de 5por GrisburT, hace un añoThe extension used to work perfectly, but since I changed computers the extension doesn't recognize anything at all.
