por Troy, hace 3 añosWorks great and I enjoyed it for months when I had a UltraWide but when I upgraded to a Samsung G9 that has a wider aspect it no longer works correctly. It would be really nice if you added support for other resolutions. Right now the only options I have are to not use the add-on, have a ridiculous stretch that is unwatchable, or have it cut inches off the top and bottom of the video. I just want it to fill the screen and leave the sides black so the Video is as large as possible on my screen without cutting anything off. Your screenshots show that I should use "Normal Mode" for this effect but that's not how your addon works, not even with a standard Ultrawide.

- Se valoró con 4 de 5por Shrugal, hace 3 díasWorks great for the most part. Only problem I have is that it makes Plex fail to change the video (next/previous, changing a stream etc.) when in fullscreen mode.
- Se valoró con 5 de 5por lulul, hace un mesi don't have an ultrawide monitor, but since every video now has some other aspect ratio than the regular 16:9 monitors, this extension is a must.
thank you and good job! - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 15274463, hace un mes
- Se valoró con 3 de 5por Buschti, hace un mesI had to downgrade to Version 3.3.4 because the Addon doesn't work on some sites it used to work with. Example 1: "heute.de" (reroutes to zdf.de) videos show a black screen, when viewed in fullscreen mode. Example 2: I sometimes watch videos via the Plex Web App and since the newest version the Addon doesn't seem to register the player anymore and stays in 16:9 in fullscreen mode.
Both sites work fine with the downgraded version.
EDIT: regarding Plex. I just tried it again, even deactivated all other firefox extensions except UltraWideo and when I use the Plex Webb App Player with Version 3.4.3 and load up a Movie or Series from my server, going fullscreen only shows the video in 16:9 with black bars on the side.
Doing the same thing with version 3.3.4 and it works as intended and stretches it horizontaly, so no more black bars. Not sure what else I can do to help in this regard.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace un mesFixed for "zdf.de". They added some kind of weird padding to the wrapper of the container , so extension will now remove that extra thing from their platform. But I will wait for release to see if there are any other issue reports that I can resolve.
Can you tell me more about Plex? I just tried it and it seems to work the same way it was. I wait for ad to finish, movie starts, I go fullscreen – it works. - Se valoró con 1 de 5por FireView, hace 2 mesesa good portion of the video on the top and bottom is gone due to the zoom of this extension. It does go fullscreen but you lose video as a result.
If you don't mind that, it works! otherwise I'd like to see the whole video and it doesn't work well enough.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 2 mesesYou can use Normal mode and then tweak Scale options to your needs. Leave some black bars and avoid distortion. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Lauren, hace 4 meses

My only request would be to allow it on a per-tab basis or restrict it to certain aspect ratios, since my primary monitor is ultrawide and I'd have to disable it manually every time I wanted to switch monitors. It looks like that's a work in progress for the pro version, but I'm not sure. Excellent addon nonetheless. It works instantly and flawlessly. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por ykjoy, hace 9 meses

This extension is far slicker, lower footprint, does not cause ANY issues with the same footage, and it offers a very convenient way of adapting a quite troubled aspect ratio of superultrawide 5120x1440 32:9 to the needs of the user. It must be said that 5120x1440 32:9 is basically a failed concept of aspect ratio implementation on a monitor that is supposed to play content NOT natively made in that same format. It will NEVER work properly fullscreen without cropping or distortion. This resolution should have received a 32:10 monitor solution. Sadly cheaping out on the panel size made it a sad affair for scaling video content. The solution for me is to set X to 0:9 and Y 1.3 in stretch mode. This will have small horizontal black bars but they are a acceptable trade off , minimal cropping the content, and have a natural viewing experience with no distortion.
Alternatively setting it to NORMAL with X at 1.9 and Y at 1 will not crop anything, while having minimal black bars vertically.
Conclusion. No software solution can provide the perfect 32:9 5120x1440 experience. It is inherently a unbypassable hardware problem to display content not natively provided in that format. A video game that offers the resolution settings does this. A video not recorded in that same format can not, no upscaling or stretching can remedy this to perfection.
What i do not like is the paywall for pro features, at least name a price and the added functionality in your UI.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 9 mesesAppreciate the thorough review, TheInfidel.
Duly noted, regarding the paywall. As you may conclude from that, I am not really pushing people to upgrade to Pro. It's more of a support the development - type of thing.
Aside, I did not want to bloat the extension size by adding a bunch of text into the Popup window. At some point, I might describe it a bit better and have a page dedicated to the features and pricing, before authentication lock. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 16128282, hace 10 mesesThank you for this extension!
