publicado el hace un añoIf I know what you're aiming at and I believe I do, I'm afraid there's nothing that can be done regarding that. It's always best if video output is larger than the screen itself (4K/8K), so that it doesn't lose the quality on upscale.
Thank you for the review, Mert. I appreciate it :) - Se valoró con 4 de 5by Chr0niC, hace un año

Edit: Thanks for the response, Dev. I am using Windows 11 21H2, FF 99.0.1 (64bit) I tried clean uninstall and reinstalling firefox, didnt work.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 3 añosWhich FF version are you refering to and which device and OS?
I am on macOS Monterey v12.2.1 and FireFox v100.0b9 (64-bit) and it still works as it did in the past.
EDIT:
Could you please follow this guide from the discussion board? It used to be the Chrome only issue (on Windows), but maybe it is now FF too.
https://github.com/dvlden/ultrawideo/discussions/62 - Se valoró con 4 de 5by Bananenbiz, hace 3 añosI wish it had hybrid upscale too.
Like upscaling the video to 18:9 and then stretching the result to fill up the whole screen. Right now stretch mode is hardly used.
The extension 'UltraWidify' does have this option though, but this extension is way more stable and performs a LOT smoother so I would like to see it here. - Se valoró con 4 de 5by Troy, hace 3 añosWorks great and I enjoyed it for months when I had a UltraWide but when I upgraded to a Samsung G9 that has a wider aspect it no longer works correctly. It would be really nice if you added support for other resolutions. Right now the only options I have are to not use the add-on, have a ridiculous stretch that is unwatchable, or have it cut inches off the top and bottom of the video. I just want it to fill the screen and leave the sides black so the Video is as large as possible on my screen without cutting anything off. Your screenshots show that I should use "Normal Mode" for this effect but that's not how your addon works, not even with a standard Ultrawide.

- Se valoró con 4 de 5by Connr, hace 4 añosThe extension is great but I would love to see support for just removing the letterboxing seen on disney +. I don't want it upscale, just zoomed in enough to remove the letterboxing present.
- Se valoró con 4 de 5by Glacials, hace 4 añosIt appears to not work when you fiddle with it, then when you fullscreen the video it works, so it took me a bit to figure that out. (on Disney+ at least)
- Se valoró con 4 de 5by SirPoopsAlot, hace 4 añosMy Oneplus 6T developed a problem after getting an update. If I'm not using YouTube then all videos are cropped in to take up the whole screen, chopping off content. This happened for whatever browser I was using, including Chrome. Getting Firefox and this add-on solved that. I guess the only thing I could ask for is being able to pinch or unpinch to change the modes (normal/upscale/stretch) or something like that. That way I don't have to open the menu to change it if I ever want to.
Edit: for those of you unable to use this, check out F-Droid and Fennec. F-Droid is an open source Android repository (think of it as a 3rd party app store for free/open source apps. Fennec is a free and open-source version of Firefox, and using Fennec you can download the specific older version of Firefox(Fennec) that allowed non recommended add-ons like this. I believe it was version 68.12.0Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 4 añosThank you for the review. Please explain what is F-Droid and Fennec to those Android newbies or to non-android users that might want to switch and try.
I am personally not familiar with it and I find it unfortunate that Mozilla doesn't want to select this add-on as "Recommended", so that everyone can install it on their Android devices. - Se valoró con 4 de 5by d4ftpuNK, hace 5 añosAmazing work! Allows me to use my old widescreen tv with vga pc resolutions.
My one issue is the resolution doesn't change in twitch.tv theater mode, only on full screen.
Thanks dvlden, you rock! :)
edit: You're right! I'm use to the wide aspect in theater mode since originally writing the review. This addon is the best!Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 5 añosHello, thank you very much.
I'm aware of that and that's actually expected behavior. The extension does not know which element is the right video element until it goes to the full-screen.
Sorry for not being able to make it working for Twitch's theatre mode. I could create some platform-specific cases, but that could quickly get out of control and become very hard to maintain in the future. (adding Twitch now and many other platform specifics, later on)
Thank you, you rock as well!🤘 - Se valoró con 4 de 5by lightmare, hace 5 añosworks great but i wish you could add this feature it will make it 10 times better, can you make an option for half and half ? i mean upscale/stretch hybrid, this will minimize the crop and the picture wont look too stretched. idk if its possible but if it is that would look much better, best regards

publicado el hace 5 añosHello, thank you for your review.
To answer your question, it is not possible to achieve that. Although, admittedly, it does sound great.
If such a thing becomes possible, I will surely implement it.
Best regards,
Nenad Novakovic. - Se valoró con 4 de 5by Usuario de Firefox 14407138, hace 6 añosIt's a very good add-on with all the modes I needed and keyboard shortcuts to turn on and off. Works very well for the most part.
But there is a small problem. In youtube when I stop/pause the extension with the keyboard shortcut (ctrl+shift+9), leave full screen, then change video or refresh and then enter full screen again, I cannot unpause the extension. I have to leave full screen press the unpause keyboard shortcut and then it works again.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 6 años~This should not be an issue anymore. I believe I fixed this in version 1.6...~
UPDATE:
Hello and thank you for review,
I believe you're talking about CTRL + SHIFT + 0 (pause the extension) shortcut.
You are allowed to pause the extension via a shortcut, but you are not allowed to unpause it. To unpause the extension, you do have to leave fullscreen and click the extension icon and then manually toggle pause - off.
This is expected behavior and the reason behind it is that pause will kill all listeners of the extension (including the keyboard shortcuts).
I hope that you understand and if you have any suggestions, let me know.
Regards,
Nenad Novakovic.
