lähetetty 22 päivää sittenHi, clickbait remover is another extension that you are free to use if you want. It has different features though and does not have any crowdsourcing - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut Firefox-käyttäjä 19587603, kuukausi sitten
- Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut Firefox-käyttäjä 18965671, kaksi kuukautta sittenCausing issues since 2.1.11 and the dev is no help in even asking for a shred of information to try and fix the issue. I highly do NOT recommend downloading this as if you have ANY issue you will NOT get any help trying to fix it.
Edit: "When someone spams my email..." 4 days went by with no response, then I gave some information I thought would be useful and thought I had found the issue, to which I closed my issue post on your github page. 6 full days went by until the issue popped up again, where I reopened the issue. I mentioned something I noticed when moving the tab/window playing a YT video and 3 more full days went by without a word. That's spam to you? You've got a very skewed definition of the word "spam" if that's how you think...Kehittäjän vastaus

I am always happy to help people who are respectful - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut Firefox-käyttäjä 19110817, kuusi kuukautta sittenA massively over-engineered solution compared to something like Clickbait Remover. Why does this require the Sponsorblock model instead of just giving you semi-random screenshots? Why all this complexity?
I don't think there's any reason other than the developer wishing to justify monetizing crowd-sourced software.
EDIT: response to developer - I would wager that the vast majority of this addon's users don't care about the title change feature (indeed, I quickly disabled it). I also don't see how Clickbait Remover predating Arrow excuses Arrow being over-engineered - if anything, that makes it worse (a simple solution was demonstrated, yet it was decided to build an incredibly convoluted alternative)Kehittäjän vastaus
lähetetty viisi kuukautta sittenClickbait remover is a great extension that was made before dearrow. If you prefer that simple approach, it's made for you
The crowdsourcing in dearrow is more about titles than thumbnails, which is something clickbait remover is not able to deal with.
Response to edit: I'm not sure I understand your point. If you don't think crowdsourcing is beneficial to you, you should use the other extension. The whole point of this extension is for the crowdsourcing, so most people using this extension are do have those enabled. - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut Firefox-käyttäjä 19092967, kuusi kuukautta sittenAggressively asks for payment despite 99% of its value being derived from the community that contributes the titles/thumbnails __for free__. Imagine if Wikipedia tried to charge a monthly subscription...
Asking for donations is one thing, and you certainly deserve some money for the work you've done here, but there's a difference between politely asking for a donation and blocking somebody's path until they shove you out of the way - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut Firefox-käyttäjä 19001582, kuusi kuukautta sitten
- Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut SimoX9, yhdeksän kuukautta sittenIt's paid, there is no option to use it free, the description is lying, best you get is 'free' 6 hours before it lockes you from using it..

lähetetty vuosi sittenIt seems like another extension might be conflicting. Could you try disabling other extensions? Maybe another extension is also changing video links. - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut malau, vuosi sittenThis extension no longer works with Firefox >133. The popup box that asks you to confirm that you are adhering to the 3 main rules is just a blank black box.
When it used to work - 5 stars
To devs reply. Yes, I understand how it is SUPPOSED to work, because it USED to work in the manner you describe. But now I just get a blank black box where the rules SHOULD beKehittäjän vastaus

- Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut Hugglesthemerciless, vuosi sittenJust had today's Formula 1 race spoiled because DeArrow put the race results as the thumbnail for the race highlights vid instead of leaving the original alone. Never using this garbage again.
- Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut Braix, vuosi sittenI feel that this goes way too overboard with its definition of clickbait and ends up compromising the artistic intent of some channels. I specifically noticed this on ahoy's channel, where the movie poster like thumbnails and simple names were replaced with lesser quality images and verbose titles. The p90 one specifically is a good example. I could go through and edit the channel specific settings for channels I already know and like, but I fear I could then miss out on channels I have not seen before are. I feel like I would like this extension if there was maybe an option for affecting purely egregious forms of clickbait rather than almost anything that seems eye catching to someone.

lähetetty vuosi sittenWe do have an exemption for fiction pieces such as short films, but one downside of this extension is that it will end up removing some artistic, and the line of what people think is good vs. bad is really subjective from the many discussions we've had about this.
For now, channel allowlisting is the best you can do, but maybe in the future we can try to make a way to share lists with others so you could follow and contribute to shared lists with people that have similar views. If you have other ideas I would be interested to hear on our discord/matrix. - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut inb4nope, vuosi sitten
- Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut Greg, vuosi sittenA 6-hour trial? This is ridiculous! I installed it, came back the next day to test it, and it says my trial expired. Now I have to wait for approval for free access? This is so unprofessional. Making it free from the start with an option for payment later would be a better approach. I'm really fed up with all the paywalls on Firefox extensions recently! Hopefully, Mozilla will sort out this marketing mess soon!
