kirjoittanut RogueKitsune, yhdeksän vuotta sittenLike other I am switching over from Quicksaver's Tab Groups, so there will be plenty of comparisons to it.
The Good...
Pretty much everything UI related is better compared to Tab Groups. I like being able to set an image or colour to group. The menus and such also seem much more responsive.
The Ok...
I like that there are keyboard shortcuts but I would really like to be able to change the keybinding back to "ctrl + `" and "ctrl + shift + `"
The Bad...
Migrating from Quicksaver's Tab Groups to Simple Tab Groups was a bit rough. First I made sure to "back up" my tab groups by bookmarking them in folder named after their group. Then I installed Simple Tab Groups and disabled Tab Groups. After restarting only a few of my tabs showed up in a group even though the group had a tab count 563. So I restarted Firefox again. This time all my tabs showed up but I now had two groups with each with a copy of all my tabs. Repeating opening and closing Firefox continued the duplication of the group even after I started moving tabs into groups. To fix this I had to close all open tabs and restart. After that everything started working fine.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that this addon doesn't really like the about:* pages. Opening, for example about:config, does not bind it to a specific group instead it acts more like a pinned tab. In addition about:newtab does not load correctly when coming back to it (search bar, top sites, etc. don't show up)
The Ugly...
I know nothing can be done about it at this time but I still have to complain about it. I hate how this addon switches between groups. Essentially all the "current" tabs are closed and then new tabs are opened with the URLs from the other group.
TLDR
Good addon, but has some areas that need improvement
Disclaimer:
I only run nightly builds of Firefox, so there is a chance the issues I saw were caused by some change/defect in Firefox.

lähetetty kahdeksan vuotta sittenPlease update add-on to latest version (v2.2)
In this version I fix duplicate groups/tabs.
About "about:config" and etc.: this is not supported bu Firefox WebExtentions API
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/tabs/create
For security reasons, in Firefox, this may not be a privileged URL. So passing any of the following URLs will fail:
chrome: URLs
javascript: URLs
data: URLs
file: URLs (i.e., files on the filesystem. However, to use a file packaged inside the extension, see below)
privileged about: URLs (for example, about:config, about:addons, about:debugging). Non-privileged URLs (e.g., about:blank) are allowed.
The New Tab page (about:newtab) can be opened if no value for URL is provided.
Version 2.1 and above has option to fast group switching (in options page)
Thanks for your feedback!

This most likely because he is being affected by the WAR in Ukraine, where he lives. Hoping for his safe return to programming tools like this.
FYI, There is newer code on Git that was submitted just over a month ago. I'm trying to figiure out how to install that and test it. - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut nucky, 15 päivää sittenUsing this for years, have to stop now and find an alternative. Do not recommend at all
Keeps hiding random tabs from random groups every day. Then you have to manually find the hidden tabs in the firefox hidden tabs menu and reopen them only for it to randomly close a bunch again - Arvioitu 4/5kirjoittanut TT, kuukausi sittenaddon "Hide Tabs" may help you unhide all tabs after firefox update problem

- Arvioitu 3/5kirjoittanut Firefox-käyttäjä 19937432, kaksi kuukautta sittenWorked well until recently. Now every time you open FF after closing it, some of the tab groups are in different windows, some might be empty, and the backups just aren't there. This extension has totally lost its purpose as being able to save what you're doing through restarts.
- Arvioitu 4/5kirjoittanut EnergyMover, kaksi kuukautta sittenRestore backup no longer works with firefox May 13 2026 update! Looks like an abandoned extension. Been over a year since last updated. What a shame. It was the best of its kind!

- Arvioitu 4/5kirjoittanut antonavy, kolme kuukautta sittenIt's really a good option for the lack of a better one... It gets the job done by hiding tabs from other "workspaces" into the hidden tabs list. Didn't notice a lot of bugs.
But a few things that really push me to use other browsers: it's not as elegant, very simple design, doesn't feel native and natural (compared to vivaldi, arc, zen, opera, etc); and two very annoying things: tab groups don't hidden, but are kinda empty, but still show previews, which brakes immersion and the fact that it spawns a directory every single day in your home folder ("STG-..."), and never cleans it up. - Arvioitu 5/5kirjoittanut Ron Elicit, kolme kuukautta sittenMy favorite browser extension, hands down. Yes, the last Firefox update broke it. Need your tabs back? Settings > Backup Your Simple Tab Groups > Enable Auto-backup (you should be doing this anyway). Then Restore Backup every time you relaunch Firefox. (I delete existing data and revert to my last save.)
That's how I'm managing until the maintainer updates this extension. (Based on their location in Ukraine, I'm willing to give them some slack.) - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut vinnyg0621, kolme kuukautta sittenupdate it to the latest version of firefox,

- Arvioitu 3/5kirjoittanut Firefox-käyttäjä 16987590, neljä kuukautta sittenIt's okay. But your max is going to be 4 groups before tabs/browser starts to feel laggy on MacOS.
