I have found no option to skip the "groups menu" dropdown and go straight into the management screen, and further the groups management screen opens itself into a tab or a window depending on the setting you have set, yet neither of these options were the way the original Tab Groups worked. It used to be that it seemingly created a navigation bar-less fullscreen window with the tabs displayed. I don't know what the limitations of quantum's haphazardly asinine addon system are, but that's rather disappointing. I don't like the current standing separate window view, nor the tab version. Very clunky to use.
Further, although explicitly stated as being planned for a future update, you cannot freely arrange the tab groups in the grid view, which is unfortunate.
This was not worth updating from Firefox V56.0.2 for, though unfortunately I was forced into doing so by the fact that many webpages have begun to discontinue support for the legacy version of Firefox. I am left with no other choice.
Edit: Boosting up to four stars because I found an amazing workaround. You can right click > PIN the "Manage Groups" tab and then, voila, there is an always-present button you can press to bring you right to the overview screen. It's on the left, not the right, but hey it's better than being forced to use that menu.

But a few things that really push me to use other browsers: it's not as elegant, very simple design, doesn't feel native and natural (compared to vivaldi, arc, zen, opera, etc); and two very annoying things: tab groups don't hidden, but are kinda empty, but still show previews, which brakes immersion and the fact that it spawns a directory every single day in your home folder ("STG-..."), and never cleans it up. - Arvioitu 5/5kirjoittanut Ron Elicit, 14 päivää sittenMy favorite browser extension, hands down. Yes, the last Firefox update broke it. Need your tabs back? Settings > Backup Your Simple Tab Groups > Enable Auto-backup (you should be doing this anyway). Then Restore Backup every time you relaunch Firefox. (I delete existing data and revert to my last save.)
That's how I'm managing until the maintainer updates this extension. (Based on their location in Ukraine, I'm willing to give them some slack.) - Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut vinnyg0621, 16 päivää sittenupdate it to the latest version of firefox,

- Arvioitu 3/5kirjoittanut Firefox-käyttäjä 16987590, kuukausi sittenIt's okay. But your max is going to be 4 groups before tabs/browser starts to feel laggy on MacOS.

- Arvioitu 1/5kirjoittanut FireFox-User-1, kolme kuukautta sittenNope, great Idea but every some updates it kills everything and is not relaible. Now lost 200 tabs ....

- Arvioitu 5/5kirjoittanut andres, kolme kuukautta sittenThis is a super helpful extension!
There is one thing that could be improved. It would be great if the native Firefox groups remained related to the tab group. When I switch groups using Simple Tab Groups, the Firefox groups disappear along with the tabs. It's like having tabs and groups within groups. - Arvioitu 5/5kirjoittanut Hugo, kolme kuukautta sittenExactly what I have been looking for. I love that you can have multiple groups that share the same container. I use it to separate school subjects, but I want every school subject to be in the school container. I also like the automatic tab unloading feature that saves ram.

I created 4 tab groups -- social media & news; payments & banking; messaging; shopping cart. I populated each with several url's that I go to frequently. I created each group in a separate window and then selected the set of tabs and created the group. So far so good.
The next day I come back, I'm on tab in my shopping cart group which I had open and then select the group social media, which I had closed the evening before. It opens in the shopping cart group. Worse, it empties out my social media group, which is now for some reason associated with the shopping cart. So I have to recreate the group on new window and remove them from the shopping cart. Why? I have no idea.
Worse, if I try to move the tabs from my shopping cart by putting them in my original social media group, it tells me the shopping cart group is closed. Why? I have no idea.
This add-on seems so simple, yet, none of the features makes sense in its implementation. This could be a great add-on if it had any consistency. I'm still using it, but every day I have to reset one or more of my tab groups, scratching my head each time.
Consistency. This is not... - Arvioitu 5/5kirjoittanut Monimonika, kolme kuukautta sittenHave been using this addon for years. I currently have 1480 tabs across 28 groups (yes, I need to clean that up), but somehow this addon has not yet failed me. I do make occasional backups just in case. Great if going through sites with chapters/episodes that if saved via bookmark would become outdated. The management interface is easy to use, too.
- Arvioitu 5/5kirjoittanut Kintak, neljä kuukautta sittenI love this addon and have been using it for years. It's very useful for a kleptomaniac power user like me who keeps hundreds of tabs and needs a way to sort them. STG has its own backup function as well, which has saved me a few times when Firefox bugs and fails to retain its state. I also get the impression STG helps avoid Firefox getting overwhelmed and degrading performance.
My only issue is that it currently has no compatibility with the new native Firefox tab group function, which prevents STG backups from saving Firefox groups. Hoping that comes in a future update!
