- Noté 2 sur 5par Gtbs, il y a 7 ansSome websites just don't work with this addon enabled. The notification is annoying and the reasons dev gives for keeping it that way are not justified.
Try CanvasBlocker instead, it's still being updated. - Noté 2 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13438203 de Firefox, il y a 7 ansIt is absolutely ridiculous that you can't disable the notification when a page (MOST PAGES) try to read your fingerprint. Seriously. I emailed the developer about it and he said he didn't plan on changing anything more than a year ago. Completely bonkers.
- Noté 2 sur 5par Stephen Smith, il y a 8 ansWorks to change the canvas hash, but the settings page is missing so I can't enable auto changing hash or disable the popup every time a site reads the canvas ID.
Edit: Turns out the settings button is there but cut off since the contents of the settings panel is more than 280px high and the author of this extension set body height: 280px. Please set body {overflow: hidden scroll;} instead of overflow: hidden or set the body height to greater than 280px so the settings button won't get cut off. - Noté 2 sur 5par gianni, il y a 8 ansHello, could you please add an option to disable the popups that appear each time a site tries to track me?
Also please add a way to automatically "generate new noise". At each session, tab or every time the browser starts?
The addon prevents gmail.com from loading. It started working again when I disabled the addon.
Worst of all, I don't undestand why having a unique signature could enhance my privacy. My privacy could be enhanced if my signature was similar to million of others, not the other way around.... - Noté 2 sur 5par Spotter, il y a 8 ansCanvas Defender blocked enter gmail!! the issue is on Firefox only. http://funkyimg.com/i/2x6A1.jpg
- Noté 2 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13265123 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansgmail will not load on linux while this addon is enabled
- Noté 2 sur 5par Woualère, il y a 8 ansAs a preliminary side note, I find it "funny" that some users who seem to care about their privacy still use Google services, Gmail above all. Dudes, think again (if I may) and find yourself equivalent online services that do care about your privacy and respect it.
I may suggest the "De-google-ify Internet" campaign (https://degooglisons-internet.org/) among others.
Regarding Canvas Defender: after using it for a few weeks, I suddenly wondered about its license... After checking, it's apparently released under the BSD-2-Clause license (according to Mozilla) and its source code is "available" (by unpacking the extension xpi file I believe ?). But this is about all. Nowhere on https://multiloginapp.com/canvasdefender-browser-extension/ could I read anything relating to the license of this extension. I don't know what to think about this lack of clarity. So for the time being, I'll stop using this extension, until Gravity Development LLC clarifies that point (ideally, their FAQ should mention which license protects their extension and a license file should be enclosed in the xpi file).
