My issue is that when using the web extension, email is stamped as four hours later than real time. Eg, when it is 6pm on the east coast of the US (my present location) gmail and yahoo mail are timestamped 10pm. My system setting is correct, my gmail timezone is correct, and I am connecting to servers in my time zone (New York, Toronto, Atlanta) yet the problem persists. This is not the case when I use the desktop client. I've stopped using the browser add-on as a result.

Hello, this is actually due to the "Disable Fingerprinting" setting in the extension which turns on a Firefox setting for increased tracking protection. This Firefox setting essentially sets any publicly available data (window size, user's timezone data, Firefox version, etc) to something very general. This keeps the user from being uniquely identified by Ad and Tracking companies because, the user essentially looks like a generic user rather than a unique user. Installing the extension turns on this Firefox setting by default but can be turned off by clicking on the "Extension Settings" icon, then "Tracking" and finally the "Disable Fingerprinting" checkbox. Then restart the Firefox browser and the timestamp should now be local rather than set to UTC time.

    Does not auto-connect. Which makes it essentially useless. Your IP will be leaked when you launch the browser.

    Haven't used it without a problem once.
    It also can't be set to auto-connect on start.
    PIA in general can't even get get their servers halfway stable and I woldn't trust them with caring for a pet rock either.
    They're cheap.

    単独で使うには問題はそれほどない。
    しかし、PCにアプリを入れていると拡張と2重化してしまうためか使い物にならない程に低速になる。
    アプリからバイパスするとキルスイッチが効かないので接続忘れで不便。

    サーバー数もアプリに比べ異常に少ない。
    固定IPが無いのがPIAの欠点。
    IPが変わるたびにログイン、認証を求められるサイトでは非常に邪魔臭い。

    固定IPとアジア圏のサーバー強化を求む。

    The app "works", but whenever I connect to it, the app forces my settings to use light mode. The add-on should not have the ability to force my light/dark mode settings on websites.

    Works OK most of the time, but the connection just dies occasionally requiring switching to a different server. This can result in multiple active logins (ie Facebook). Desperately needs a kill-switch feature to block traffic when the VPN proxy server connection fails. Also needs an option to autostart the VPN with the browser startup.
    Over-all it does what I need, but plenty of room for improved reliability and features.

    This addon has never worked on firefox. For over 3 years. no issues with it on unix or windows but as an extension in browers never worked.

    A number of updates over the last year or so have removed servers from the available list until today there is only one server. The speed it bad and you constantly have to change servers to keep your connection working. You get logged out all the time. Use a different service.

    Simply the best. This is the serious team that protects your anonymity and privacy. I am a very long long user and in my opinion there is no competitor in the field in this price.

    I am very pleased with the quality and effectiveness of this add -on. It is very helpful and complements the PIA VPN program (application). It has several options that strengthen anonymity on the Internet.

    This plugin causes conflicts with my Hikvision camera plugin. I can display my two cameras on the web gui when this plugin is disabled. However, when this plugin is enabled it interferes and causes the video window to be too large and offset to the right (so the second camera is not visible).

    10+ years and no issues, no troubles, no competitor, works fine on windows, ubuntu, arch linux, in vms.

    Always goes down for extended periods of time. It shows it's connected but you can't load pages. Sometimes reinstalling gets it working again but only lasts a short while.
