troch Firefox-brûker 14128572, 2 jierren lynI've had experience with Lastpass, 1Password, Keepass/KeepassXC, and Roboform, but Bitwarden is the best password manager I've ever used.
It's free and open source, which are very good qualities for software to have. It's very trustworthy because it's open source and it goes through security audits that happen every year. Those audits are shared with the public. It does a good job at autofilling credit card info and logins in web browsers and on Android. It's good at offering to save new usernames and passwords.
However, it has some noteworthy problems that I've listed below.
1. The UI of the browser extension and mobile app is not as organized and beautiful as it could be. It looks too cluttered in some places. The UI animations are just a little too slow sometimes when clicking certain things in the mobile app and browser extension, like when opening the folder menu or sync menu, and other menus.
2. There is no passkey support. You can't use a passkey to sign in to Bitwarden, and you can't create or save passkeys with Bitwarden (support for passkeys is coming soon, though).
3. Bitwarden does not have autofill popups near text fields like 1Password does. You have to click on the suggested item in the Bitwarden extension, or use a keyboard shortcut, if you want to autofill in a safe way.
4. Bitwarden does not feel as user-friendly as 1Password or KeepassXC, and a lot of that has to do with the UI of the browser extension and mobile app, I think. There's too many buttons and options visible at the same time in some menus.
5. The Bitwarden desktop app can't autofill/autotype the text fields of desktop apps on Windows.
6. The keyboard shortcuts are not configurable. I want to be able to change the "copy username" and "copy password" keyboard shortcuts.
7. Pressing Ctrl + W to close the Bitwarden desktop app window removes the tray icon on Windows, even though I enabled the "Close to tray icon" setting.
8. I can't sort my items. They're all sorted in alphabetical order. I want to be able to sort them by "date modified", "date created", and "recently used/last used".

- Wurdearring: 4 fan 5troch Pitt, 4 oeren lynThe last few days when I login with the master P/W Firefox freezes and the cpu utilization goes up. I can only kill it through task manager.
It works fine in Edge and Crome
Please fix it. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch Arman Async, 4 oeren lyn

- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch ohwnez, 9 oeren lynCritical issue. Like other recent reviews note, the current version of Bitwarden is unusable and even detrimental. Logging in triggers a runaway process that uses more and more memory and CPU cycles. I am forced to kill Firefox in the task manager before I can do anything else on my computer. A single browser extension using 7+ GB of memory is not normal.
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Marc, 9 oeren lynThe developers seem to to be testing their extension at all, as since the latest update, the extension freezes completely on every single installation I've seen.
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Twist3r, 10 oeren lynTrying to use the Bitwarden Extension in August 2025, it caused Firefox to freeze for 10+ second for any operation, and the extension didn't even work - trying to fill in a password would just cause a 15+seconds freeze, and after that the password was not even filled. Disabling the Bitwarden extension caused Firefox to become lightning fast again as usual, immediately, so this was really a problem with the Bitwarden extension. This is totally unusable and unacceptable, and very sad as Bitwarden is a great service. The extension worked perfectly the last time I used it a few months ago, so this is a new issue (in the meantime I was using the Windows App, which works fine). I really hope this will get fixed quickly.
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 14609807, 12 oeren lynLatest update is completely bugged. The whole extension goes into panic mode when you first try to log in. Have to restard the whole browser to fix for now... Needs a critical update asap it's non functional as is
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Moamar, ien dei lynThe last update do not work properly the add-on icon still in gray colour and when I enter the password to unlock the vault it causes Firefox to shutdown accidentally fix that please
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch DR, 2 dagen lynThe latest version lags so much that it freezes the browser for about 50 seconds...
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19238466, 2 dagen lynThe latest version lags out enormously and uses a mind-boggling amount of RAM when logging in, making Firefox go from less than 1GB of RAM usage to just shy of 11GB. It freezes the whole browser for ~30 seconds while doing so, before finally letting all that RAM go and actually logging me in. I'm not sure if it's compromised, but I've tried reinstalling Bitwarden and I get the same results. The addon has been nearly flawless for years before, so I'm hoping this is just a temporary issue, but as it stands I find it unusable and highly suspicious about what exactly it's doing to use so much memory and freeze the browser.

- Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch Mathias, 8 dagen lynI find it mind-boggling that the chromium version is at v2025.7.0, while the one on gecko is still at v2025.2.0, which is still dated March 21, 2025... why don't you update it? It's a great extension but I find that the version gap is just huge... the version on the add-ons is listed as v2025.6.1, but I can't update it on my browser I'm stuck on v2025.2.0

? Selbstgewählte Symbole auch?
Sicherheitstechnisch fühle ich mich gut aufgehoben. Kostet ja auch. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch MightyKing, 15 dagen lyn
