Thank you for raising 'global search' to my attention. You can see my plans for it here:

Unfortunately I probably won't add the feature for a few months due to exam pressure. In the meantime, you could try using the 'keyword lists' feature for long searches: open the popup, click "Keyword Lists", type any name, then type in each keyword. On each tab you can press "Highlight in current tab" to highlight those keywords. Feel free to contact me directly if you have questions!
