It works as smoothly and as responsively like the Chrome extension.

Would be perfect, if there was on option to show transcription in Romaji (Revised Hepburn) instead of Hiragana (like sadly abandoned Perapera Japanese). Some people use it for other reasons than learning the language.

This is for me the perfect replacement for the old Rikaichan. My only wish is for a toggle in the preferences that would let me turn image ALT/TITLE attribute interpretation off.

Note: this works great for Anki cards if you use it with ankiweb.

Incredible add on! Works anywhere, Chrome, Firefox, laptop, phone. Word exports work well with Anki now, as I had written in my review some time ago. There is no better add on for on-demand Japanese translation

this is a fucking brilliant add on, cheers to the creator. makes life 400 billion times easier as a pleb trying to study japanese. i use it a lot to read those simple NHK articles (a great resource for anyone who wants to regularly apply their japanese reading skills - https://www3.nhk.or.jp/news/easy/ ). thank you!

Since the last dictinoary update, proper names are now showing up on top of the list of word definitions.
I do not like this change. Names dictionary still displays normally as always when I press shift.

Thank you very much for this porting of Rikaichan. Is there any chance you port Rikaichamp for THUNDERBIRD too ? That would be great to say the least, and I'll probably make a donation if you do so.

I've been working in Japan in a Japanese company for a long time and Rikaichan for Mozilla Thunderbird helped me A LOT. I recently updated Thunderbird just to realize that Rikaichan wasn't supported anymore. Please HELP !
PS: I tried getting the xpi file after adding the extension to Firefox and then import it into Thunderbird. While the extension is properly listed and shown as compatible in Thunderbird, it actually doesn't seem to work :/

EDIT: Thank you for the answer and happy new year :) I hope you or someone else can do something about it. Unfortunately I'm not into software dev :( If it takes less than 6 months it would be awesome !
