The translations look pretty good to me.

I was looking for something exactly like this thinking it wouldn't exist. It's unfortunate that there are so many unfair reviews. This extension does exactly what it says it does. Yes, it's paid but I think the free trial is fair at 30 credits. You can get 2500 credits for 5.99 which also seems like an incredibly fair price. I'm loving it so far! Can't wait to go back and read things I've only been able to look at.

Franchement, l'extension est mature et fonctionne super bien, vous pouvais la tester pour lire 30 page mais elle n'est pas gratuit un chapitre pour cela que les gens rage et mets un 1, mais clairement pour 4 euros environ tu a 2500 page de chapitre a lire, incroyable.

Honestly, the extension is mature and works perfectly. You can even test it for 30 pages, but people are leaving 1-star reviews just because the full chapters aren't free. Seriously though, 5$ for 2,500 pages is a steal.

it is light, fast, and cheap. it has an issue with paying money but the developer is trying to help well. if you want to pay for credit, dont refresh the browser until done message.

But imo it's worth it because:

The extension actually works, lol. This differentiates it from the other dozen ones I've tried which have invariably sucked or plain not worked at all.

I use it to translate random jp/cn/kr comics on pixiv. It's super convenient, text in the images gets translated right there on the screen.
The translations aren't always perfect (it can struggle with hand-writing), but it's FAR better than what you get by pasting the image into google translate/google lens.

The interface is super easy to use, too. You don't even need to instruct it which language it is looking at.

Clean and fast.

The translated texts are very readable texts and are within the speech bubbles(other scanlation extensions/sites just slaps white textboxes on top of the speech bubbles, etc) which makes it looks clean.

If you are looking for something to translate those untranslated works, do give this extension a try.

this is currently one of the best image translation extensions, and it’s far superior to other tools. I understand why you don’t allow personal API use, but it really is a feature worth having. Anyway, this thing is amazing, not perfect of course, but I hope it gets even better in the future

Alright so I'm using this app for 2 weeks and must say that I'm impressed how intuitive it is ... but also a lot of useful tools makes it worth every cent!

Of course it won't work in 100% everytime-everywhere but this is a nitpick...

AND for those who think this should be free - it's a pipe dream... c'mon it got really user-friendly way of payment - no shady subscription but buying points that You can use as You see fit :)

Actually works better than I thought. Works fast and automatic. I tried it with the sits NAVER korean to english and it worked great. It struggled however a bit with short impressions that however I think is because of the model I used

only manga translator ive found that actually works correctly and isn't subscription based. translations on the lowest setting typically work, probably even better on the higher ones. developer provides good support if you have any issues.

Probably one if not the best in browser translator for picture , yes it cost a bit if you want to read a lot of translated picture but the price is really small and its really easy to use , from when i write this review they are the only translator in picture and able to dl the modified picture , simply the best

By far, this is the best manga translator I’ve used, it surpasses all the others I’ve tried so far though it has its own flaws but is normal for all manga translators to have.

This works! I'm having a good time reading manga online without having to wait for scans to translate them. I wish the best for this team and it's extension. Great work guys.

Hey another review guy here! but Seriously, before Torii Image Translator, getting through untranslated manga was such a chore. I used to do it all by hand with Tesseract OCR or other OCR services, and then I’d copy and paste it (obviusly also need to spend a bit of time correcting the formats of text order etc) into DeepL or google translate it took forever to clean it all up and get the formatting right. Each chapter was like, two or three hours of work, maybe more. Its really a total time sink. Now, though? I just drop the image files in and it does all the work for me. The translations are pretty cool too ,and it only takes a minute! It’s a total game changer. I really like how easy it is to use, and the translation quality is pretty nice too (honestly its very servicable and i didn't even use the top models since they use more credits deepseek is goat here for price/performance). I already picked up the 2000 (edit because i misremembered its not 2000 its 2500 credits instead!) credits for like 6 bucks, and it’s honestly good for its price.If you like untranslated comics or manhwa, or really anything with text in an image, you can use this!

I'm writing this review after postponing it for a few months. I like the translations it offers. It's cheaper than others and provides usage proportional to what you pay. I bought a few golf balls and am using them. Even though free usage is limited, the prices are cheaper compared to a few others I've used, and it offers a wide range of languages. My only concern is privacy. Even if the developer says they don't store data, we can't be sure and have to trust them.

It works super well. I used to use Ichigo on Chrome before moving over to Firefox, but this one beats it in every single regard. Even the pricing is beyond reasonable.

So the firefox extension works very well on a couple of manga websites I tested.
The choice of LLMs has increased and the brand new 2.5 flash has been added!
For manga reading the 2.0 is more than enough but I think that adding the image context option helps a lot.

For those who leave low star reviews because it's paid, please take into account that nothing in this life is free. This extension, apart from coding the extension itself, requires a service that runs in the background, and API calls to the LLM providers. All of these cost money, and you have to have the actual skills to do it. Most of the "low star because it's paid" reviewers have absolutely no idea how stuff work, could never do it on their own, and still expect it to be free.

Please appreciate the effort that has gotten into this, the ongoing running costs, the ease of use that it provides, which would be unimaginable a few years ago and the really really low amount of money it requires from the end user.

Google lens might be "free", but even if we don't consider the inconvenience, it feeds on your data, so it's not really free. Nothing in life is free. Perhaps the air we breathe, but I have doubts.
