it requires you to have your own backend with a data compression server running on it. A SERVER. Like, you have to write your own backend for this extension to work. That's hilarious - if i was going to write my own image compression backend, why would i pair it with an extension made by some russian guy?

Works very well. Alternative compression service in PHP is available on github, search "php_bandwidth_hero_proxy".

A life saver for those who are on limited bandwidth. Also I don't understand why some are whining in the reviews down below. Like what do they expect? Running a compression server costs money. Some people expect everything to be given for free.

Also, there are many ways to deploy your own compression service for free on the internet. All you gotta do is look for them. ;)

It doesn't even work. It's now telling you to do the whole thing by yourself. Completely and utterly useless add on unless you're a tech-person which is not 90% of the people who use computers.

This is really good, yes they don't have their main server anymore, but you can create your own server since it is open source

This might have been a helpful add-on once, but these days the server to compress the images is no longer running, making the add-on useless for most potential users.

with FF107 this add-ons work perfectly, move from heroku to render. not as fast as heroku but as long its free.
