went from pretty awesome to completely useless. need to find something else.

New addon does not work as it is meant to. I'm running Waterfox, so I don't need WebExtensions, but I was hoping for a multiprocess compatible version. Well, it no longer seems to block URLs on the list, so...reverted.

used to be nice quick and easy little app donated on and off as I thought it was wort it . Have had it for years. over 20000 urls . Now no import .txt files (which is the format I back the data in) means have to add 1 at a time . I understand things need updating but to not allow us to add years of data is just unprofessional . I doubt there is anything better out there but forced to look elsewhere and not recommend this app anymore

This add-on is now completely useless to me. It used to be great until a few days ago. I used it to block the URLs of annoying embedded portions of otherwise useful websites. I was able block websites based on just part of the URL without needing to know the whole web address (for example I could even input the wildcard *biz* if I wanted to block anything from [.biz] domain. It was super awesome and useful. And every time it blocked a site, I just got a discreet little popup in the bottom right of the screen telling me that a part of the website was blocked. Blocked embedded areas just showed as blank, nice and simple. Now all of that is gone! Suddenly this extension is absolutely USELESS with the new update. Wildcard entry (blocking any URL which contains a specific character-string) appears to now not be supported. NOT WORTH THE EFFORT OF EVEN DOWNLOADING THE ADD-ON! Like somebody else below, I actually created a new Mozilla account just so that I could write this review! That's how disappointed and upset I am with the new update. II would give Zero Stars if I could. Come on guys! Why did you have to take something that was so very useful and break it? Will somebody please write a new extension that does what this one did before a few days ago? Please?

Excellent tool to help to stop my procrastination habit.

The latest update completely crippled the extension. While my old blacklist still works, I cannot add anything new: every time I add a new website, it forgets whenever firefox is closed. Deeply disappointing.

I came to write the review but I've seen that others already wrote about same problem. The new extension doesn't work.
To tell the true, I'm using Firefox for 2 reasons only: block site extension and classical menu. Now I'm down to one,а reason not strong enough to motivate me using it further, especially when I have to put up every day with insane "security" measures, which identify CNN television as "not secure" while allow all the spam and really harmful websites to open.
Buy, buy block site, I adored you while you were working :(

De plus les options de paramétrage ne sont pas conservées.
C'est insuportable, je le désactive.

The main reason I installed the extension a long time was to block stuff embedded in pages or encapsuled in a frame. BlockSite was the only extension I could find, that would let me do that.

With the latest update, blocking those things no longer works and thus the extension is absolutely useless now for my purposes.

If it was possible to give this update ZERO starts... that's what it would get.

A perfectly useful extension that was updated without my consent to a completely useless extension.

Every time I start Firefox I get to be reminded that this extension exists and now is terrible... great... it doesn't seem to remember any of my previously blocked sites, it doesn't seem to block sites that you add to it. When you add a site, it no longer accepts all wildcards " * " and will not accept sites that end in " .whatever " if it's not a dot com or something standard, forget being able to add it...

It seems if I go back to a previous version, I can downgrade it back to 'useful' but I guess I have to do that every time I start Firefox.

So disappointing. If someone knows another extension that will currently do what this one used to do, please let us all know!

BlockSite started out OK and was quite effective in blocking a Verizon horror that trashes the address line if you make an address typo. While Verizon has instructions for removing this unwanted mischief, the instructions are outdated and inappropriate. BlockSite was a wonderful solution.

That was a year ago.

Today BlockSite has degenerated into a virus that's displayed when Firefox opens. Ironically, the virus thanks me for having installed the BlockSite malware roughly a year ago.

Time to move on to a product that blocks the intended site without co-opting my browser.

Since the update every time this "thank you" page opens when you start firefox.

It was a lot more BETTER BEFORE THIS UPDATE. The redirect page is driving me insane, it was way better with the little window on the bottom, now I'm thinking of removing it and find another blocker. Please go back to the old version, or at least change the redirection page to the little window there was before.

New update makes a new tab saying i have installed blocksite everytime i open my browser making this extension usless so it is now uninstalled. Real shame as it used to be a good extension
