I installed this add-on because it was a "recommended" extension. I've been using this DR for several months. Today, strangely, it stopped working. I closed and restarted Firefox and DR was gone. It simply disappeared from my list of installed add-ons. Why would it do this?

its the fake version called "dark reader for ff" pretending to be this extension and other 17 extensions.

This addon is NOT the addon mentioned in recent articles (December 15th 2025'ish). Google "dark reader github" Then click the discussion tab at the top. A Dark Reader Dev has posted that this is NOT the addon mentioned in the news, regarding stenography malware.

Been using this for years, highly recommend, saves my eyes and keeps my OLED screens dark for long term survivability.

I like this addon, but I really want an option to use it on restricted websites.

Works well on most websites, with or without tweaking. Prevents flashbangs even on "dark-themed" sites.
