je so 1 個月前 napisałHi, it's not meant to be predatory, and does not promise to be free. It is a paid extension that allows most people to use it for free if they choose- Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot bnvnnchgcccc, 2 個月前changes titles that dont need to be changed at all, and it changes them to a longer much worse version of the same title. the original was already descriptive, useless app, terrible user titles

je so 2 個月前 napisałYou can try enabling "casual mode" to keep the funny or interesting titles, or use the "default to original information" button to only see the custom title if you click a button - Used to be amazing. Now with the latest Youtube changes it's very inconsistent. Most videos that use to have custom names and thumbnails no longer do, and only a few here and there still have them. The majority of videos also don't even allow you to submit new titles anymore, the textboxes to do so are absent.

je so 3 個月前 napisałHi, is this still happening to you? Could you send a screenshot to dev @ ajay.app Wotmołwa wuwiwarja
je so 3 個月前 napisałDeArrow is a paid extension, but I understand not everyone wants to or can pay, so you can use it for free by clicking "I don't want to pay" or sending me an email for a free key
Or even using a good ole keygen website lol https://ashleygraves.eu/dearrow/- The settings are not nearly granular enough for me to customize this experience to my liking, and the style that the community has decided to adopt is not *descriptive* it's *verbose*. Concise language, emotive language, evocative language are not bad things, inherently. Videos from some of my favorite channels were unrecognizable and significantly worse.
I wish I could say this could be solved by creating a "blacklist" mode, where only specific, named, egregious channels I select would have their titles and thumbnails replaced, but I installed this in order to scrub the obnoxious titles and thumbnails that Veritasium loves to use, but the community suggested replacement for one Veritasium video was so much *less* clear and descriptive than the original that it completely defeats the point.
I wasn't bothered by the request for payment, since it took me significantly less than the six hours of the free trial to realize this wasn't for me. Additionally, unlike some people, I recognize FOSS development is labor and deserves to be paid. I just wish people realized that also applied to those who script, film, edit, and design thumbnails for videos on Youtube.Wotmołwa wuwiwarja
je so 3 個月前 napisałSorry about that, unfortunately the titles aren't for everyone and can be too descriptive sometimes for sure. I suggest enabling "Default to Original Video Information" - Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot NonOfYourBiz, 4 個月前trying to coax users to donate money, 'wait 12h until we activate it :)' and when you click 'i wanna pay but cant' it works right away.

je so 3 個月前 napisałIt's a paid extension, but I don't want to limit people who cannot or do not want to pay from using it. So, you can use it for free by clicking that you don't want to pay, or emailing me asking for a key :) Wotmołwa wuwiwarja
je so 6 個月前 napisałHi, clickbait remover is another extension that you are free to use if you want. It has different features though and does not have any crowdsourcing- Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Wužiwar Firefox 19587603, 6 個月前
- Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Wužiwar Firefox 18965671, 7 個月前Causing issues since 2.1.11 and the dev is no help in even asking for a shred of information to try and fix the issue. I highly do NOT recommend downloading this as if you have ANY issue you will NOT get any help trying to fix it.
Edit: "When someone spams my email..." 4 days went by with no response, then I gave some information I thought would be useful and thought I had found the issue, to which I closed my issue post on your github page. 6 full days went by until the issue popped up again, where I reopened the issue. I mentioned something I noticed when moving the tab/window playing a YT video and 3 more full days went by without a word. That's spam to you? You've got a very skewed definition of the word "spam" if that's how you think...Wotmołwa wuwiwarja
je so 6 個月前 napisałWhen someone spams my email, I am a lot less interested in spending time helping them out. I am always happy to help people who are respectful - Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Wužiwar Firefox 19110817, 1 年前A massively over-engineered solution compared to something like Clickbait Remover. Why does this require the Sponsorblock model instead of just giving you semi-random screenshots? Why all this complexity?
I don't think there's any reason other than the developer wishing to justify monetizing crowd-sourced software.
EDIT: response to developer - I would wager that the vast majority of this addon's users don't care about the title change feature (indeed, I quickly disabled it). I also don't see how Clickbait Remover predating Arrow excuses Arrow being over-engineered - if anything, that makes it worse (a simple solution was demonstrated, yet it was decided to build an incredibly convoluted alternative)Wotmołwa wuwiwarja
je so 10 個月前 napisałClickbait remover is a great extension that was made before dearrow. If you prefer that simple approach, it's made for you
The crowdsourcing in dearrow is more about titles than thumbnails, which is something clickbait remover is not able to deal with.
Response to edit: I'm not sure I understand your point. If you don't think crowdsourcing is beneficial to you, you should use the other extension. The whole point of this extension is for the crowdsourcing, so most people using this extension are do have those enabled. - Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Wužiwar Firefox 19092967, 1 年前Aggressively asks for payment despite 99% of its value being derived from the community that contributes the titles/thumbnails __for free__. Imagine if Wikipedia tried to charge a monthly subscription...
Asking for donations is one thing, and you certainly deserve some money for the work you've done here, but there's a difference between politely asking for a donation and blocking somebody's path until they shove you out of the way - Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Wužiwar Firefox 19001582, 1 年前

je so 1 年前 napisałIt seems like another extension might be conflicting. Could you try disabling other extensions? Maybe another extension is also changing video links.- This extension no longer works with Firefox >133. The popup box that asks you to confirm that you are adhering to the 3 main rules is just a blank black box.
When it used to work - 5 stars
To devs reply. Yes, I understand how it is SUPPOSED to work, because it USED to work in the manner you describe. But now I just get a blank black box where the rules SHOULD beWotmołwa wuwiwarja
je so 1 年前 napisałThere are four rules. You have to check off each rule at a time. It only happens on your first submission and every few weeks. - Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Hugglesthemerciless, 2 年前Just had today's Formula 1 race spoiled because DeArrow put the race results as the thumbnail for the race highlights vid instead of leaving the original alone. Never using this garbage again.
- I feel that this goes way too overboard with its definition of clickbait and ends up compromising the artistic intent of some channels. I specifically noticed this on ahoy's channel, where the movie poster like thumbnails and simple names were replaced with lesser quality images and verbose titles. The p90 one specifically is a good example. I could go through and edit the channel specific settings for channels I already know and like, but I fear I could then miss out on channels I have not seen before are. I feel like I would like this extension if there was maybe an option for affecting purely egregious forms of clickbait rather than almost anything that seems eye catching to someone.

je so 2 年前 napisałWe do have an exemption for fiction pieces such as short films, but one downside of this extension is that it will end up removing some artistic, and the line of what people think is good vs. bad is really subjective from the many discussions we've had about this.
For now, channel allowlisting is the best you can do, but maybe in the future we can try to make a way to share lists with others so you could follow and contribute to shared lists with people that have similar views. If you have other ideas I would be interested to hear on our discord/matrix.
