Gracias por comentarlo, entendemos la preocupación. Firefox ahora exige que las extensiones etiqueten cada categoría de datos que pueden tocar, y por eso apareció esa lista en la última actualización. Queremos ser claros: PrintFriendly nunca solicitó información financiera ni de pago, ni datos de salud, ubicación o inicio de sesión.

Las dos categorías que más alarman, información identificativa y comunicaciones personales, venían de una sola función, "enviar la página por correo," que la hemos eliminado. Ahora la extensión solo pide lo que una herramienta de impresión y PDF necesita: el contenido de la página que imprimes y su dirección, para generar el PDF. Solo lee la página cuando haces clic en el botón y no rastrea tu navegación.

Además, vamos a traer de vuelta el correo de forma más respetuosa con la privacidad, con el envío gestionado en printfriendly.com para que la extensión no maneje tus contactos ni tus mensajes. Si actualizas a la versión 6.9.9, cuando esté disponible, verás la solicitud reducida a esos dos elementos esenciales. Gracias por ayudarnos a mejorar.

    It works but not very well. When printing a long web page, some text missing from resulting pdf. Also there was a almost page-long empty space that was not present on original page. No options to print as one continuous text. The option to remove ads and navigation completely messed formatting (even though the web page in question had no ads at all, just a few navigation buttons).

The formatting issue you saw after removing ads and navigation is also helpful to know.     Excellent extension! It converts webpages into clean, well-formatted PDFs while preserving the layout. Even better, you can edit the page before converting, making it easy to remove clutter and keep only what you need. Highly recommended!

    it's incredible, especially taking into account that it is free. I had some concerns regarding some permissions, but I believe these are being updated in order to require only permissions to actually work. The outputs and overall work of the extension are really solid and are almost conceivable as a natural feature of any web browser on 2026.

    Thanks for the feedback. We understand why the new permissions raised concerns.

    Those permissions were only needed because of our old “email this page” feature, which we’ve now removed in a version that's being reviewed by Mozilla.

    The upcoming update reduces the extension to just the permissions needed to create printer-friendly pages and PDFs.

    In the latest version 6.9.8, the extension suddenly needs some new permissions:

    "The developer says the extension will collect: browsing activity, personal communications, personally identifying information."

    They don't even have anything to say in their changelog about this update (it's literally empty). This is very concerning. I'm disabling the extension and staying on the previous version 6.7.10 for the time being, while looking for alternative.

    Thanks for raising this concern. You’re right that we should have explained the permission changes more clearly.

    The alarming permission categories came entirely from one feature: Email this page, which needed access to pass along the recipient’s email address. We’ve removed that feature. PrintFriendly has never requested financial information, health data, your location, or login information.

    We’re rebuilding the email feature in a more privacy-friendly way so the extension won’t need access to contacts or messages. We appreciate you calling this out, and your feedback helped us improve both the permissions and how we communicate changes.

    This extension has been very helpful when I want to preserve an article or other web content for future reference. It captures the content and does a fantastic job of eliminating overlays, buttons, and pop-ups that distort or hide content when using the browser's built-in print function.

    I was recently concerned when Firefox notified me that the extension now requires additional permissions, so I uninstalled it. I was invited to explain why, so I shared my concern. I was surprised that the developer contacted me to learn more about my unease. We exchanged a few messages and my issues have been addressed with a new version that's currently under Mozilla's review.

    I often don't leave reviews, but this type of care and response, which few extensions get, deserves to be recognized. I see that others have left negative reviews because of the change, so I hope reviewers will see the developer's responses and understand the issue has been addressed.
