You can disable autoplaying media in the native Reddit settings:
Settings > Preferences > Autoplay media - Z 3 z 5 pohódnoćenywot mortiswell, eit år sidanWas working really well before this last update but now it causes Reddit to freeze for 5-10 seconds every time a new page loads.

I had to clear my cache then dissable the ext and then relogin for it to work.
