I tried importing my working config from Chrome, but no dice, still won't let me select that option.
I could use a file:// URI to refer to a file I can edit, but that adds several steps of inconvenience, since you still have to refresh reload the file after first editing it externally.

It report "Cannot set this proxy type!" on firefox 75.

Shows some kind of error: "can't set this proxy type", don't know why. On the "direct" tab it shows some error regarding "proxy.settings", but the error message is truncated so I don't know what's wrong.
