When I go into Firefox, Add-ons, Add-ons Manager and select Open Link with New Tab, Settings, I see a landscape view of very tiny letters. I turn phone sideways and enlarge to read and select an option.

I press a link, select open link in new tab, and I see the Firefox message "New tab opened" on the left side and "Switch" on the right. I've tried all 3 options in this Firefox Android app and none of them work.

Am I missing something?

Doesn't work for Deliveroo links.

(Somehow Deliveroo links for restaurants override the usual open link in new tab behavior, though I can still right-click on the link and select "Open Link in New Tab" to force it to open in new tab. This was why I was looking for some add-on such as this, but unfortunately this add-on did not work.)

Also, this add-on doesn't work for bookmarks.

Didn't work at all on Windows 10. I checked settings, restarted Firefox, checked several links. All opened in the same tab despite my setting with this extension to open in new tab. The biggest problem is Mozilla for not making the option available as it used to be.

It didn't work for the site I needed it to work on. Additionally, I don't know why they want permission to access data for all sites.

FF68: We really need this and thanks for your efforts. Unfortunately it doesn't work with javascript links, i.e. will create a blank tab but will not download associated file. When this addon is disabled, the save dialog is presented on clicking the link, as expected. So cannot really use this. Is it a simple fix?

The options to control what opens in a new tab don't work at all.
