I had Tab Groups extension installed which was not supported on new Firefox at that time and didn't want to make a move without that or similar extension. Simple Tab Groups are just what I needed. Allows to group tabs, to switch groups, doesn't load all tabs in group but only active one (saves RAM).
To all unsatisfied reviewers:
* Tabs loss is not due to this extension, this is an acknowledged Firefox bug. The extension author has shown it happens even without his extension. It is registered in Firefox bug tracker. The best you can do for now is to check that the extension is tracking your tabs (colored triangle on extension icon), back up tab groups before closing Firefox, and hope that either extension author finds a workaround, or this bug is fixed in Firefox itself.
* Adding moz:extension scheme to url is the way to avoid tabs reloading when switching groups. If you disable Fast Group Switching, you'll disable url mangling, but you'll notice that all tabs are loaded at once. This, again, is a limitation of Web Extensions API in new Firefox, which doesn't allow to hide a tab, only to close it. And when you switch groups, you'll need to reopen them. I've heard that tab hiding has finally been added to Web Extensions API. Let's hope it's true, and wait for new version of Firefox which supports tab hiding.

This most likely because he is being affected by the WAR in Ukraine, where he lives. Hoping for his safe return to programming tools like this.
FYI, There is newer code on Git that was submitted just over a month ago. I'm trying to figiure out how to install that and test it. - Using this for years, have to stop now and find an alternative. Do not recommend at all

Now every time you open FF after closing it, some of the tab groups are in different windows, some might be empty, and the backups just aren't there. This extension has totally lost its purpose as being able to save what you're doing through restarts.

- It's really a good option for the lack of a better one... It gets the job done by hiding tabs from other "workspaces" into the hidden tabs list. Didn't notice a lot of bugs.
But a few things that really push me to use other browsers: it's not as elegant, very simple design, doesn't feel native and natural (compared to vivaldi, arc, zen, opera, etc); and two very annoying things: tab groups don't hidden, but are kinda empty, but still show previews, which brakes immersion and the fact that it spawns a directory every single day in your home folder ("STG-..."), and never cleans it up. - 5 段階中 5 の評価Ron Elicit によるレビュー (3ヶ月前)My favorite browser extension, hands down. Yes, the last Firefox update broke it. Need your tabs back? Settings > Backup Your Simple Tab Groups > Enable Auto-backup (you should be doing this anyway). Then Restore Backup every time you relaunch Firefox. (I delete existing data and revert to my last save.)
