"Simple Tab Groups" has been an absolute game changer for my workflow. It is a very well thought-out extension that has allowed me to compartmentalize my work activities greatly. I normally have multiple windows open, separated by activity. In fact, I usually have upwards of 6 windows, with each averaging upwards of 20 tabs, for everything from different Jupyter Python projects to researching different topics to general web browsing. It was a nightmare keeping track of which was which, I lived in constant fear of losing papers or web resources I had found or of simply losing the structure I had in those windows, and the associated RAM usage would periodically slow my machines to a crawl. "Simple Tab Groups" has completely solved these issues.
ORGANIZATION: Simple Tab Groups allows you to name groups and, with the setting enabled, display their names in the window title. I can much more easily manage multiple windows by using these two features.
HISTORIES / ORGANIZATION: Tab groups are stored, with customizable backups created daily by default, so that I can quit Firefox or restart my machine and simply reopen the tab group with the tab structure I'd previously tailored. .
MEMORY: When RAM usage becomes an issue, I can simply close groups with the secure knowledge that I can easily reopen those groups when I need them again. There is also a specific option to save RAM when tabs are hidden, but I haven't found it necessary to use this option. Many of the groups I create are only needed once a week or less. I can now simply keep those windows closed until I come back around to that project, so that my RAM usage now generally stays low.
Finally, this extension also works well with Firefox's "Multi-Account Containers" extension. I have used both together for weeks with zero conflicts on either a Mac or Ubuntu 18. My only concern with this extension is that I am becoming highly reliant on it, and if Drive4ik ceases developing and supporting it, I would be hard-pressed to find a combination of trustworthy (i.e., Mozilla-recommended) tools that work as well as this one extension does. Thank you for your excellent work, Drive4ik! Would love to support you monetarily as well.

- It's really a good option for the lack of a better one... It gets the job done by hiding tabs from other "workspaces" into the hidden tabs list. Didn't notice a lot of bugs.
But a few things that really push me to use other browsers: it's not as elegant, very simple design, doesn't feel native and natural (compared to vivaldi, arc, zen, opera, etc); and two very annoying things: tab groups don't hidden, but are kinda empty, but still show previews, which brakes immersion and the fact that it spawns a directory every single day in your home folder ("STG-..."), and never cleans it up. - 5 段階中 5 の評価Ron Elicit によるレビュー (15日前)My favorite browser extension, hands down. Yes, the last Firefox update broke it. Need your tabs back? Settings > Backup Your Simple Tab Groups > Enable Auto-backup (you should be doing this anyway). Then Restore Backup every time you relaunch Firefox. (I delete existing data and revert to my last save.)
That's how I'm managing until the maintainer updates this extension. (Based on their location in Ukraine, I'm willing to give them some slack.) - 5 段階中 4 の評価CarlosTorch によるレビュー (24日前)

- This is a super helpful extension!
There is one thing that could be improved. It would be great if the native Firefox groups remained related to the tab group. When I switch groups using Simple Tab Groups, the Firefox groups disappear along with the tabs. It's like having tabs and groups within groups. - Exactly what I have been looking for. I love that you can have multiple groups that share the same container. I use it to separate school subjects, but I want every school subject to be in the school container. I also like the automatic tab unloading feature that saves ram.

I created 4 tab groups -- social media & news; payments & banking; messaging; shopping cart. I populated each with several url's that I go to frequently. I created each group in a separate window and then selected the set of tabs and created the group. So far so good.
The next day I come back, I'm on tab in my shopping cart group which I had open and then select the group social media, which I had closed the evening before. It opens in the shopping cart group. Worse, it empties out my social media group, which is now for some reason associated with the shopping cart. So I have to recreate the group on new window and remove them from the shopping cart. Why? I have no idea.
Worse, if I try to move the tabs from my shopping cart by putting them in my original social media group, it tells me the shopping cart group is closed. Why? I have no idea.
This add-on seems so simple, yet, none of the features makes sense in its implementation. This could be a great add-on if it had any consistency. I'm still using it, but every day I have to reset one or more of my tab groups, scratching my head each time.
Consistency. This is not... - 5 段階中 5 の評価Monimonika によるレビュー (4ヶ月前)Have been using this addon for years. I currently have 1480 tabs across 28 groups (yes, I need to clean that up), but somehow this addon has not yet failed me. I do make occasional backups just in case. Great if going through sites with chapters/episodes that if saved via bookmark would become outdated. The management interface is easy to use, too.
- I love this addon and have been using it for years. It's very useful for a kleptomaniac power user like me who keeps hundreds of tabs and needs a way to sort them. STG has its own backup function as well, which has saved me a few times when Firefox bugs and fails to retain its state. I also get the impression STG helps avoid Firefox getting overwhelmed and degrading performance.
My only issue is that it currently has no compatibility with the new native Firefox tab group function, which prevents STG backups from saving Firefox groups. Hoping that comes in a future update!
