Hi, thanks a lot for the update!

- There are 10 websites where the extension is not supposed to work without an API token, to prevent people (usually, employees of these websites' owners) from using the extension for work. The list:
"watzatsong", "coub", "gyrostream.com", "cms.onerpm.com", "rumedia.io", "decabroda.studio", "adsintegrity.net", "file:///", "v16-tcs.tiktokcdn.com", "rmxindia.in", "vk.com".

The extension should work on any website that doesn't have any of these strings in the URL.

Can you please send us a link where the extension refused to identify the song? This is likely a bug (perhaps a false positive match with the strings above?). Our email is firefox@audd.io.

- Regarding YouTube streams, some of them broadcast songs that are "not copyrighted"/were not released on digital platforms, and unfortunately we don't have them in our DB.

- 2 out of 10 songs with people talking over is quite a low number; can you try increasing the recording length in the settings to 12 seconds and see if that improves?

We really appreciate you giving the extension another try and making the update!

Good, but completely breaks netflix. Previews appear in the wrong place on the site, controls are hidden behind the video, and keyboard controls no longer work at all. Disabling this addon (and only this addon) fixes it immediately, 100% reproducible.

Causes bugs on netflix even when not activated for song search, renders the whole platform basically disfunctional.

Edit: I don't remember it causing any problem on youtube or other video playing websites. But netflix was the only platform which uses DRM. Not sure if it's related.

We've not been able to replicate that, though. For us, the extension doesn't work on Netflix, but it doesn't impact the platform.

Can you share what's your OS and what specifically breaks on Netflix?

The addon got fixed, most of the 1 star are just talking about it or have unupdated clients.

Perfect, got it yesterday for my browser, it had trouble with muting videos, but at the same day I got this add-on this problem get fixed, so now it's perfect for finding songs. Thank you developers for this add-on, cause it really sucked to not have normal song identifier in Firefox.

Don't know how to answer normally, so I'll just update my review.
Well that's interesting, because from my side, only thing that I did was turning off then on add-on. Actually at add-ons manager at firefox, it's saying: "Last Updated July 7, 2025", so I thought that something changed from your side.

Edit: we had updated the extension description, but not the extension itself.

(That said, we're releasing a new version that should hopefully fix this issue for everyone.)

It mutes the sound in the browser every time I try to ID a song playing. Have to refresh the page just to get sound back again

Abandonware, probably for the sole purpose of advertising a paid service. There is a known issue where it mutes your tab after searching for a song, which hasn't been fixed for months.

Definitely wasn't the case of abandoning the extension or using it for advertising a service; it's just incredibly tricky to get audio recording working on Firefox, as the browser doesn't support direct audio capture from the tab. It used to work most of the time and find the music playing in multiple video formats. But these days for some reason youtube and other video formats lose all sound whenever I try to use the extension. And need to be refreshed to get sound again.

Additionally the Reddit video player (cursed be its name) doesn't work too well with it and it can't recognise the sound from it.

It's pretty good a identifying songs, but while it's listening, it mutes the audio, and it doesn't come back until you refresh the page.

guys, you just can use an old version of the addon, v3.1.6 is still works for free on youtube and don`t mute tab.

BUT, JFYI, song recognition on some sites, like twitch is PAID and on some other sites (like top-radio.ru) it is just dont working ("start error: can't find any unpaused media elements", its said)..

What happened was that we tried to fix audio recording that basically stopped working on YouTube and many other websites, but introduced a bug that prevented audio from being played back. All of this should now be fixed, and the extension works almost everywhere.)
