Appears to use translate.google.com to provide the service, and the new one on me is that extensions apparently can't block other extensions' requests, since umatrix, ublock, etc can be set to block google, and Rethink still shows FF making attempts. So, it basically reports your browsing to Google...that makes it intentionally spyware in my book. FF's own builtin "Read Aloud" will have to suffice atm.

you have to stay in the window to read, MS edge native reader is much more better

The robot voice is truly awful. There has to be a better way.

The update from June 30, 2025, did not fix the error either. Whenever I want to listen to something on the Internet, the error message “Not allowed error” always appears. I use the Google Translate German voice. Now, I'm fed up. I'm definitely going to uninstall this extension now.

terrible, it mispronounces words, skips entire sentences and even make weird or inappropriate sounds halfway through reading. if 0 stars was an option, i'd choose it.

Great if you are looking for a megaphone emoji for your toolbar. Useless if you are looking for a TTS that is understandable. Also, doesn't even consistently work.
